Higher Pressure

Post by Lionsfan14568 » Wed May 28, 2025 1:55 pm

Hello

Recently purchased a Galaxy smart watch which measured over night O2 readings. It said I was going into the low 70s. Called my Sleep doc who is also a Pulmonologist and she ordered an over night o2 study. That was completed and over 6 hours of sleeping I was below 90% for only 8 min. Lowest was 71%.

Sleep study was completed. I'm on a BiPap setting of like 23/17 before this study. During the study I woke up on my back and told them it wasn't enough pressure, they told me it was the settings I had at home. They eventually increased it.

My numbers are over 25cmh2o because my insurance company wants blood gases as part of the approval process for a new unit that can give the pressure I need. What machine will I probably get?

Back story my Dad passed from heart/lung failure last year. He was untreated for years, C02 was in the 90s when he went to the ER. Passed less than a month later. Still very Raw.

I'm 47, over weight (340lbs, Diabetic) I bet anything I have elevated blood gases. How can one exercise with these conditions?
