If you can afford one get one before tariffs hit
If you can afford one get one before tariffs hit
I see folks talking about back up batteries. I have been using the ecoflow delta2 for some time now and love it. I plug it into the wall and then plug my CPAP into it. When the power goes out, they’re automatically switches over to the battery and my CPAP does not stop and my sleep is not interrupted.
Right now they were on sale at Amazon. I have a bag for mine because I also have a solar bank. I can plug it in and put it outside and it keeps it waterproof Ish.
I also bought a barrel connector so that if we had long-term power connect my CPAP directly to the 12 V outlet on the delta. This will be big power saver if needed.
Lithium iron phosphate LiFePo are very stable and won’t explode unless you maybe try very hard to do so. this baby charges in about an hour if I had to take it out of the house and get it juiced up somewhere.
I also bought a second one for fridge and was pleased to plug it in the other night when we lost power and fridge only draws about 100w when running so theoretically I can get almost 10 hrs running fridge (normally we don’t open fridge at all during outage but my partner had groceries we wanted to put in and once it cycled off we left it closed. )

I hope this helps someone rest easy.

Thanks, Lynn.
If I didn't happen to live in a complex with full generator backup in a location where power outages are extremely rare, I would certainly be looking into something similar to that.

I hope things quickly get so bad for so many people that Trump can be thrown out of office easily. With Vance going out right behind him.

Nothing will change until then, you are correct.ChicagoGranny wrote: ↑Tue May 06, 2025 12:53 pmI hope things quickly get so bad for so many people that Trump can be thrown out of office easily. With Vance going out right behind him.

However, i don’t want to get in trouble here for posting my concurring opinion while also pointing out how the rest of them are giving away their power when reality is they can cancel them any time they want (they don’t want to). Not yet.

I want to re-enforce Lynn's sentiments about the ecoflow.
I use the EcoFlow Delta 2:
I use the EcoFlow Delta 2:
- I keep my CPAP plugged into the EcoFlow 100% of the time via the the AC outlet. This draws from the grid, and therefore doesn't contribute to charging cycles.
- Should a power failure occur, it switches over to battery, with out disrupting the CPAP.
- I have a DC-DC converter, that I use for anticipated power disruptions.
- It's got massive capacity, 1024wh.
- It's got a lot of charge cycles, over 3000.

@DogSlobber
I have a ResMed Aircurve 10 ASV device and am just starting to look at battery backup systems. The EcoFlow Delta 2 seems to be a well rated unit and I am considering that. A question or two…
Are you able to use the CPAP’s humidifier and heated tube function while on battery power?
So it sounds like the waveform from the EcoFlow is compatible with Resmed’s devices when on backup power?
Also what is the purpose of DC-DC adapter you use? Is that required to operate with the EcoFlow unit or to run from some other power take-off?
I live in fire-prone far Northern California and our local utility just announced that they are considering preventative planned power outages when certain weather conditions arise; thus the search for battery backup systems.
Thanks for any input.

Yes, it's got 1024Watt Hours. That's a lot of capacity. In my testing I ran a night on battery with both the AC and DC-DC. My estimates were, I would get almost 4 (8 hour) nights connected via AC, and 5.5 nights connected DC.
Typically, you can connect your CPAP to battery with either an AC 120v plug, or DC (cigarette lighter adapter). AC is less efficient from because the inversion of 120AC has power loss. Therefore DC is preferred. ResMed sells a DC-DC converter for use with Air 10 and 11s.
Yes, my Air10 has been plugged into my Delta for almost two years continuous. Not a problem
True sign-wave inversion isn't really a thing anymore, especially for devices that also convert AC back to DC.
.
More efficient battery capacity and for use with battery setups that don't have an AC inverter.
The Delta 2 ticks off all your boxes.
- You can continually run off it, in case of an unexpected outage.
- Great capacity.
- Running off it continuously doesn't impact battery lifetime
- You don't need a DC-DC converter, their benefit is increasing capacity for extended use.

Re: If you can afford one get one before tariffs hit
Thank you, this is very helpful. Especially the bit about the DC-DC converter.
One more question please… Is the EcoFlow pretty quiet? My ASV machine is nearly silent, which my wife appreciates!

Re: If you can afford one get one before tariffs hit
Yes (and no).
There is the potential for noise, during recharge.
When fast recharging, the fan can come on. But I have mine set to quiet charge. It charges slowly without the need for the fan to come on.
Should I deliberately cycle it, then I'll put it on Fast Charge and it will charge from 0 to 100% in about 90 minutes, but that is noisy.
