Help Please with increase in Leaks

Post by Evaret » Thu Feb 26, 2026 7:36 pm

Hi
I am looking for some solutions to help me with a recent increase in leakage rates.

Up until a couple of months ago I was getting good results with my cpap setup - Redmed 10 and airfit nasal mask. Oscar was showing 95% leak rates of around 12, sometimes as low as 9. The Resmed app was giving me scores of around 95 to 98, loosing points usually for 'nature calls'.

Then the leaks starting jumping to the high 20s sometimes often into the 40s. There had been no change in the equipment

I have been trying all sorts of solutions. all with no change. I went back to my local cpap shop who refitted the mask. I then tried 2 machines (resmed 10 and resmed travel mini), the cpap shop let me try at least 4 different masks and headgears. No difference.

I tried different pillows - harder, softer, different fill.

I then back to an Eson mask which I had been using years ago with good results. No change.

The other thing is that most nights the leaks are not waking me although I might be rolling over - I'm a side sleeper

I have included the Oscar report from last night

Any suggestions would be most welcome

Have you tried to figure out exactly where the leaks might be coming from?.....like taping the mouth shut to eliminate mouth opening leaks??
Have you tried a new long hose to make sure the hose hasn't sprung a leak or hole somewhere?

Hi Pugsy

Thanks for your comments

I bought a new hose but have not tried the tape. I’ll try that for a couple of nights

Cheers
