Does anyone else have the problem of waking every night at the same time?
At 3:00AM, without fail, for the last year, I wake from a sound sleep for no apparent reason. Checking my stats when I woke at 3:00AM this morning, my numbers were really good, AI was 0, HI was 3 and AHI was 3. I can't chalk it up to the machine not working.
Waking at 3AM
Hi Lee Lee,
This subject comes up occasionally. If you were to do a search on "waking", you'd find quite a few threads.
Here's one that I remember from not too long ago.

I would say it means you're getting good results from your therapy.
Best wishes,
Den

You may be getting enough sleep but if it is exactly at 3:00 AM every day without fail there may be something such as a timer which clicks on at that time in your room.
My wife had a mechanical alarm clock where the numbers flip down with every minute. She had set the alarm on this clock to 6AM but she never used the alarm feature. She is a light sleeper and when the clock reached 6AM the clock would click, indicating that the alarm tripped. The alarm was in the off position so it would not go off but the clicking was enough to wake her up (that was all she needed for an alarm).
The mechanical timers used to turn on/off lights when one is gone may be another source of noise that may be waking you up.
I found that non-drowsy allergy medication wakes me up between 3 and 4 in the AM. I would be wide-awake. This was frustrating for I was still tired. After about a month of not sleeping well it finally dawned on me that “non-drowsy” equated to “no sleeping”. I stopped taking the med before bed. The very next night I slept through the night. It was great even though it was pre-cpap.
I hope you are able to find the reason. One month of the med waking me drove me nuts. I can't imagine a year of it.

Wasn't this the time that the guy in Amityville Horror always woke up?
Seriously though, I seem to wake up around this time some nights too. I don't know if maybe there's a neighbor who works until 2:00 am and is just getting home or what. (Like maybe I hear someone driving past at that time?)

Well Kimberly I got you beat on that problem. I'm Deaf Or at least profoundly hard of hearing. I might hear something with my aids off.... maybe..... if my hearing dog Thunder has to go to the bathroom he starts to whine and it wakes my wife upKimberlyinMN wrote:Wasn't this the time that the guy in Amityville Horror always woke up?

I was having that problem for months, what worked for me was to put a large fan in the room set on it's lowest setting, never did find out what or if a noise was waking me up, with the white noise from the fan, I don't hear it anymore. but it may also have been coupled with insomnia.
The worst thing that I did do when it started happening was to start stressing about it, then it created a life of its own, weird I know, do some reading on insomnia, one of the ways get it to go away is that for example.( I got some books on insomnia and this is one of the suggestions)
I was only getting 6 hours of sleep a night, so the first night I stayed awake on purpose until 1:30 am, slept through the night, next night stay awake until 1:00 am, decreasing the amount 30 minutes to 1 hour each night, it worked for me.
I am now sleeping most nights 7-8 hours a night.
