Try using a mouthpiece. Pressure on ears will disappear. I started with tinnitus on my left ear 6 months into my cpap use. Now three years later my doctor turned up my pressure and right away noticed my tinnitus worse and even felt my head ache. I use a face mask so I bought ear plugs, cut them in half and put in nostrils. Wala!!! No pressure in ears. So now I use my cpap with only mouthpiece and noticing my tinnitus getting better and better. I wish I knew earlier. My doctor just kept saying it wasn’t related to cpap use. But for me it was. I only want to share this because I’ve looked for help on this topic like so many and nobody had answers. I’m sharing this to help others like me.

Well, I am about the same amount of time into cpap and I think I am developing Tinnitus. I have had my hearing tested before, and until this felt it was well above average. Never any ringing. I will talk with my Doctor about it.

I know...I know but nothing here to give me a reason to not let it post. "Out there" isn't a reason to not approve something.

If it really helps though....wonder why someone wouldn't just use the Oracle and pinch off the nose.

Accomplishes the same thing...no air pressure in the nasal passages to maybe affect the inner ear.

Only, the problem is, it's all connected inside...

Your nasal passages are going to be pressurized with the oracle, otherwise, there's no reason to use the nose clamp (or haha.. earplugs stuffed up ones nose, not that THAT would work).

CPAP use has no connection or correlation with tinnitus, at least as far as current research goes.

I have tinnitus and have had it for 20 years now. My ringing is specifically in the ranges of 4khz - 7.5khz. If you want a sample of what I hear, 24/7, 365 days a year, then check here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?reload=9&v=NMOlA9D29z0

I hear that sound every single waking moment of my life. It is difficult for me to understand people that are speaking to me at a table in a restaurant, or in any situation where there is background noise.

What a test showed was that I was essentially deaf in those ranges, most likely from my time in the military. Further research is beginning to show that tinnitus may be a result of the brain itself implanting sound in those ranges where one is deaf in, as there is supposed to be sound there anyway. They just don't know *why* the brain does this, or how to stop it.

CPAP use has had zero effect on my tinnitus, for ill or good.

I completely agree...I have had tinnitus since 1996...I was diagnosed with Sleep apnea in 2008. No relationship.

I completely agree...I have had tinnitus since 1996...I was diagnosed with Sleep apnea in 2008. No relationship.

I had tinnitus before CPAP too. Some ototoxic medications can make tinnitus worse.

My tinnitus is military related also. Oddly enough when I got hearing aids it got much better. I suppose the amplified ambient sound helps mask the tinnitus. Also made understanding conversation in noisy environments much much easier.
The major problem with hearing aids is the cost. A pair can easily cost $5000. Analog aids are/were cheaper but don't work nearly as well as digital. Don't know if analog ones are still available.
