Encore Pro Smartcard - Can I "read" it at home?

I have a bipap machine using an Encore Pro Smartcard. Is there a way I can "read" how I'm doing? The card is about the size of a credit card, so I have no way of knowing how to scan it in order to read the info...

Tonight is my one week anniversary of being on bipap. I had severe obstructive sleep apnea with my O2 levels dropping down to the 50% range when in REM. Ooooops. That might explain why I have been a walking zombie most my entire life and especially the past two years. My doctor kept telling me it was my thyroid (which I take meds for) and/or depression (which I refused to take meds for because I didn't think that was the issue).

I INSISTED on a sleep study test, which was granted reluctantly.

I hate my GP. I need to find a new one. In contrast, I LOVE my new "sleep study doctor", she listens and responds.

Anyhow... the card... can it be read?

Takes a program called Encore Viewer and a card reader to plug into your computer. Links to both. Sometimes you can find Encore Viewer a bit cheaper on cpapauction.com. Most of us read our own it is the only way we can make our therapy work for us.

Using the utility at http://www.mycpap.com you copy your SmartCard to disk and Email me the file to UPMCPAP@hotmail.com .

All you need to buy in that case is a card reader. That's all.
