I have been a rabid fan of the CL2 pillow mask for a long time and when I decided to try the new Aloha nasal pillow mask it was with lots of hope for something really new. Was I ever surprised. I got the new mask yesterday and decided to give it a try. Wow, what a nice improvement in comfort and stability. The feeling of the head gear was a bit different, but I learned real quick that it stayed in position much better than I ever hoped for. The only minus I felt was, IMHO, the exhalation port, it felt like the airflow out was a bit stronger than the CL2 due to the smaller number of exit holes.
I was really impressed with the hose swivel design, it is the smoothest and leak free design yet. All in all I recommend it highly for pillow users that don't like a lot of gear on their face. I don't think I will need to alter any thing on this one like I did on my beloved CL2 to get it to where it performed in the best way for me...Give it a try, think you will love it to.

I have not tried it yet, but funny you mention that product because my sleep doc told me to try it when it comes out. she just got one and loves it and said she's switching from the swift lt. hers is a promo.

I am so glad you're loving your new mask, I sure hope my DME can get me one! I look forward to more good news about your experience. Way to go my friend!

Re: First night on new Aloha nasal pillow mask
I just pulled my new Aloha out of the box to try it on. I use a Swift LT now, most often with the cushion hacked up for Breeze pillow inserts. After about a five minute trial, I think I am really going to like the Aloha. I might not even need the lanolin to help the seal. With the Swift LT, sometimes the supports push the cushion away from my nose when my face is against the pillow. That did not happen even when I put a little effort into trying to make it happen. I like the pillow desig, the headgear is light, and has velcro on all ends. It seems like every night, lately, I have to tighten up the Swift headgear.
I can't wait to try it out for real tonight, but so far I am impressed. Might have a new mask.

I can't wait to see what you think of it, Raylo. I'm also a Swift LT user and am interested in what you see as the differences between them.

Re: First night on new Aloha nasal pillow mask
My DME said they will have them soon. They better get with it or I'll have to buy online.
Re: First night on new Aloha nasal pillow mask
I had a good night with the Aloha mask. I think the best think I can say about it is that it was less noticeable and a tad more comfortable than the Swift LT. I used just a little bit of lanolin, more as reassurance to me than because of necessity. I never noticed any leaking - I sometimes do when I use the Swift LT and have the side of me face against the pillow. I tend to bury my face into my pillows.
I think it may be just a tad lighter than the Swift and more flexible. It seemed that it was possibly a bit quieter too. It has covers over the support arms that cross your cheeks that are bit like the pad-a-cheek things available for the Swift.
The Aloha has a different way for the arms to meet the cushion, with a way to adjust the angle. I fiddled with it too much before I went to bed and pulled the arm out. After I put it right and stopped fiddling, I didn't have another problem with it.
I don't have any reliable, specific leak data (intellipap isn't great for that), but I did not feel or hear any.
I will be interested to see how long the pillows last. So far, I like them better than the LT's, I think they go a little deeper and seal better without being uncomfortable. I am pretty sure that when they start to fail I can use the Breeze pillow modification like I often do with the Swift LT (viewtopic.php?p=433248#p433248). I will also be interested to see how long the headgear lasts.
Overall I really liked it. If no unforseen things happen, it will probably be my new permanent mask.3
Plus, it has a cool name. Aloha.

Re: First night on new Aloha nasal pillow mask
Think I'm going to add this one to my list for a future mask. I have the newest SleepWeaver on order so that's my next one, but currently swap the SW out with Swift FX and LT, so another to add to the mix is a good thing!
Thanks for the report on this new mask - I like the sound of it's comfort and fit for side/stomach sleeping.
Cheers,
xena
