BiPAP & nasal pillows

Post by otessa63 » Fri Jul 20, 2012 9:23 am

When I got my BiPAP machine last Friday they didn't give me a choice of what mask to use; they simply brought me the full face mask. Is there a reason you can't use nasal pillows with a BiPAP machine? I would at least like the option of trying them? Any ideas?

Thanks!

You can use any mask w/a bipap as far as I know.

You can use any mask you want to with the bipap. If your pressures are rather high then maintaining a good seal becomes more of a challenge but that happens with any mask.
There are people here using pressures in the 20's with their bipap and using nasal pillows.

What happens if you start mouth breathing while using nasal pillows? Do you lose the pressure?
