The reason for these questions, is that I'm looking for alternative ways to power my cpap. I'm often away from electrical outlets for days at a time. And batteries that I've found for sale are way too expensive, and wouldn't last long enough anyway.
I have wondered, since getting my machine what people would do during a power outage. You're definetely onto something.

I have the Resmed 12 volt inverter and a battery I charge with solar panels.
The battery is large enough to power my CPAP for a few nights without heated hose or humidifier. Just cheap Harbor Freight stuff, but it works.

Smartass remarks when being called out for spitting up misinformation notwithstanding, using the term "inverter" when you mean "converter" can be quite confusing for someone that *does not know any better* and is looking for *HELP*'.

Please don't post misleading comments.

Resmed machines take a 12-24v DC converter, it is *much* more efficient than an 'inverter' to power a Resmed CPAP.

I"m trying to find that same 12VDC barrel connector to fit a Remstar. Did you ever find a source?

"remstar" is a generic term that Philips Respironics used for many years on many different machines, so, no, you have to be specific.

Or just buy the appropriate 12v cable from places like cpap.com.

Your best bet is to get a 12/24 VDC converter, or a 24 VAC power supply. As far as I know, the barrel connector is proprietary, and no one has ever found one by itself.

We would appreciate any clues to where that item has been reverse engineered-
-not just a lookalike counterfeit, that might only make smoke come from your valuable equipment

Very many laptops use the same connector.

Sorry, I have no clues to give about reverse engineering or counterfeits. I bought an aftermarket 12/24 VDC converter from Amazon, and it works perfectly.

I got the 6s6p battery assembled. This time it goes through the whole charge cycle without getting imbalanced.

I used an iMax charger/discharger to top off and balance all the series, and the a regular discharge, then recharge. This time, with actual working fuses, LOL, they all stayed close enough for the BMS to take care of what was imbalance was left, if any.

As for What-Hours, I haven't tested that yet. The theoretical value based on the individual cells should be about 166Wh total. Last time, The CPAP used an average of 6.34Wh per hour. So I'm expecting about 5 nights worth of use.

I'm making a few changes to the case, nothing of note, but soon I'll put it all together and give it another real world test. :)

I got the case put back together with the new battery. With the smaller battery, the whole thing weighs a bit less now at about 17 lbs. And there's a little room for an extra pocket.
Image

I've used the CPAP on the battery for the last couple nights with the hose heater on. This uses a little extra power, so I can find out the actual Wh of the battery in use, a little faster.
Image

So far, I've used 188 Wh, and the battery is still balanced within a few mV. I figure I'll have part of one more night until the battery is drained. Still looking like I'll have 4-5 nights per charge with the heaters off.
