n30i vs f30i

Post by edbrownewellsr » Mon Dec 27, 2021 11:53 pm

Hi, I've been using the f30i for a few months really without much trouble and lately trying to give the n30i(w/quiet air vent) a go and having issues with exhalation. I do have a heated hose and set to auto. EPR of 3. pressures I tried at 6-12. Just can't get use to the n30i. Any pointers appreciated.

If the F30i was working...why switch?

having issues with exhalation.
Please be more specific. Are you exhaling through your mouth with the N30i? Did you exhale through your mouth with the F30i?

While I'm awake I don't breathe thru my mouth with the f30i. Might after I fall asleep like I was before the machine. But my wife says I don't snore anymore so maybe I'm not. I was just trying out (in my mind) the less intrusive mask (not being a full mask). Less lines on my face, can take a drink of water at night without fully removing the mask. Costs. Hey if it isn't working out then back to the f30i.

Unless it creates more problems, less mask means more comfy.
More comfort = better sleep.

Exactly what I'm doing, just seeing if I can improve my situation any and learning about all the options available.

I did this as well a few months back. Just trying to improve from good to better. My AHI numbers skyrocketed but I know that was somewhat of a false positive. My nose would fill up deeper into the night, the machine would read that as a blockage, and try to push through it, then I'd open my mouth and start breathing. It was worth a try! I went back to the F30i. Some discussion here,
