Alternate uses for xPAP

Post by offlineon » Mon Nov 27, 2006 10:29 am

Since these machines spend a fair bit of time sitting idle, I was wondering what else they can be used for? Some of my thoughts:

Aerating the hell out of your tropical fish tank

Telemarketers - just tell them to wait, strap on your full face mask, turn your machine on, then chat about their free offer

Jacuzzi - simply pop the hose in the bathtub.

Leaf blower with C-Flex

Office meetings (no explanation necessary)

Scuba diving without the scuba part

Fog Machine for disco parties

Lint removal / cat hairs - does not work, but neither does anything else really.

Halloween / fancy dress (costume) party - go as an OSA sufferer.

OSA Poker - A straight flush of smart cards beats a full house

...any other ideas?

I use my spare xPAP on my desk at work to provide a bit of soothing white noise all day. Then when I go to bed, I don't hear anything.
+ Aussie heated hose.

People (like me) who have the M series can use it to blow dry the leaks from the machine!

Great idea Oflineon!

On 01 June of this year I took over a third, and quite large Garden/Weekend plot upon which a wonderful little house stands. I immediately began digging trenches and laying cable so that we would have a power source. Just in time for my 7 year old son's summer vacation we had electricity (yippee!) so we spent his entire vacation 'camping out' there. I have since acquired a futon bed for sleeping on but originally I had purchased a large air mattress. I sat and huffed and puffed for a while and then it occurred to me: Why not open the larger air vent and use my CPAP to inflate it.

Never in my life have I seen an air mattress inflate so rapidly! I did the same thing with the large Intex Easy-Set pool too! WOW, no more huffing and puffing!

Tricia: who has found great joy in blowing things up! (ah, the joy in simple pleasures can't be topped)

You could use it to power a wind tunnel for paper airplanes? I used mine the other day to annoy a girlfriends cat. Very satisfying.

Sucking Wind since Feb '06.

They can be used to blow dust out of your computer. Just make sure there is absolutely no moiture in the hose.
