Economical Ways of Cleaning CPAP Masks

Please, share with us how you regularly clean your masks. What kind of wipes do you use? The purpose of this OP is learn how others are dealing with the daily cleanness needs of their masks while taking into consideration the economic constraint involved. Please, indicate how much do you for that wipes if any and what model do you prefer and why. Thank you for sharing.

dish soap and water, whenever they look less than clean.

I usually use a baby wipe nightly, and a good wash/rinse with dawn once a week or so.

Economic restraints??? I use an unscented baby wipe from CVS...runs less than $3 and lasts 2 months. When I do wash my mask...rarely...I use liquid hand soap.
My masks and cushions last a long time. I use the Quattro mask. I boil the cushions at about 3 months and they come out like new.

I'm a lot like LSAT. I buy the Pampers Sensitive Skin baby wipes at WalMart for $1.78 for 60 wipes. I will wipe down my mask every morning to remove oils and any gunk. I'll clean my mask every 2 or 3 weeks with clear Dawn dish soap. I use a $1.00 toothbrush from WalMart to clean the mask, then soak the mask in clear water in a plastic salad bowl. I rinse real well, dry the mask off and use another baby wipe to remove soap film. Since I've grown a beard, my leak rates (95 percentile) are usually around 8 or 10 L/min, so I started using my padacheek liner.

I had been meaning to economize my wipes for cleaning my nasal pillows, and your post remind me and got me in gear. I just went and did it! Thank you I have to have wipes in the house because my 2 year old is still in diapers, but the wipes are so big, it only takes a small corner of it to clean my small mask. So I cut the wipes down into 6 pieces, and stacked them into a travel soap box. Now I can just take a small wipe every morning and wash my mask without a bunch of waste. And like the others, I do a deeper clean once a week with soap and water.
I get a huge box of parents choice unscented wipes, there's like 5 packs of 500 in the box but like I said, I need them in bulk for my toddler.

After seeing these replies, maybe I'm cleaning my mask too often!! I am a newbie with the CPAP (1 month) and a week ago switched from the Nasal mask to a full face mask. I've been cleaning it every morning with dawn liquid detergent. Maybe I'm working too hard!

When I used a FFM, I cleaned it about once a week, though I'd wipe off the cushion every night with a squirt of plain purell on a kleenix... it did a great job cleaning the facial oils off the cushion.

I use generic unscented baby wipes--no cutting, a whole one!
After I wipe the pillows, I wipe my face--way more gentle than almost anything.

For me a weekly wash with a "natural" dish washing soap seems to work just fine.

Hand diswash detergent in the bathroom basin. Works for me. I don't share my mask.

I'm on (I think) my 7th or 8th year of CPAP. When I first started, I bought a bottle of Seventh Generation dish soap (no colors, no fragrance). I use that to wash my mask occasionally. I still have most of the bottle left. I think it cost about 30 or 40 cents more than our usual dish soap, but a very worthy investment.

That's a bit extreme for daily/weekly cleaning, don't you think?

I wash mask with Dawn almost every day.
To save water I need to get a small container for shower.
