No connection, whatsoever--in most cases.
Please ignore yon fooles.
Cpap is far safer than they can imagine.

is there a correlation between higher AHI's and using the humidifier for some people? im not saying the humidifier is to blame, but ive woken up a few nights now where my nose seems to be congested and im breathing through my mouth. again, im not saying its the humidifier. it could be something i ate, but im trying to figure out why
Well, maybe.. If the humidity you're using causes you congestion, then that can affect your AHI... try more.. or less humidity, ore even none
... Just whatever works best for you.

What works best for me is to use as much filtering as I can, and the cleaner air seems to help lessen my allergies.

I've been using cpap for a little over 5 years now. I got really sick once with bad congestion. Shortly after I started cpap.

But you know what? It was completely coincidence. I started cpap in April of 2012. In early May, a bottle of fertilizer was completely spilled in my parents' minivan, and partially cleaned up (part of it went under the passenger seat). A couple weeks later, I went on a road trip, in that minivan. Came home sick. Didn't put it together as the car smelled fine, and the spill had been a couple weeks earlier. I was sick for a couple weeks. It cleared up. I went on a longer roadtrip. Got sick again. This time for 2 months. Horrible cough. Finally cleared up. Used the van again in October, got sick again. This time, my dad asked me why I keep getting sick on road trips. I said I didn't and named two that I didn't. I realized they were the only two in a different vehicle. My dad removed the passenger seat and deep cleaned the minivan. Never got sick again on a road trip. That van has since become my van.

Back when I first got sick, I did wonder if it was related to cpap. I think I even asked about it. I know I deep cleaned everything. But it really was just bad timing and completely unrelated.

Who would have thought it would be this challenging to sleep and breathe at the same time?
