Bleep/DreamPort nasal mask review thread

I think the mask would basically be perfect with:

• a more flexible hose, like the Resmed n30 (or the p10, I guess?)

Does anyone know of a third-party source (say on eBay) for a hose similar to this that would work with the Bleep?

No normal hose that could be bought mainly because of the part of the hose that attaches to the DreamWay

BUT....you can successfully take a P10 hose off the P10 frame and stick it on the DreamWay and it will work just fine.
I have done it.

To everyone....Stuart has heard the complaints about the short hose and it not being as flexible as people want.
They are actively working on getting a better hose...more flexible and longer. I don't know when it will be available to the public though.

In case anyone else is wondering, after back-and-forth with pugsy over PM, I ordered an N10 frame and pillow combo for $20 on eBay. Am almost certain it uses the same hose as the P10, and so should be perfect for what I need.

It is I cut the hose off a P10 frame for one mask and an N10 for another no difference I can detect. I have two rigs one in the uk and one in ireland I swap every week for work it saves flying every week with a setup.

Thanks for this (and for the PM's)! You are correct, they do sell it without the prescription, and I even found a promo code to stack on top of it to make it cheaper.

Are the "DreamPrep" wipes still the recommended option for applying before the adhesive, or did this thread unearth better solutions? I can pick those up on Amazon as well.

Rubbing alcohol (91%) is probably "better" but much harsher on your skin. I use the DP wipes, alcohol and 3M Cavilon and am still fighting leaking issues.I got some surface prep pads from Smith and Nephew Im going to try next and see if that helps.

My issues seem to be around the sides of the end of my nose. Seems like overnight the adhesive loses integrity and allows the air to burrow a tunnel through there. I wake up usually around 5 hours after going to sleep with air blowing in my face.

Still sticking with it tho.. Im determined to make this work

For people with adhesive failure issues there is the chance that the hose is putting undo stress on the adhesive with tossing and turning you might consider adding some sort of hose management system to keep the short hose out of the way and less chance of it being torqued and putting stress on the adhesive and having it come loose around the nostril.

Maybe the adhesive won't let go as easily if there isn't something pulling on it as much.

Just a thought. Homemade DIY hose management systems are easy to make out of items laying around the house or you can go fancy with a store bought system.

Talked to Stuart about this just a bit ago and ordered a couple of things he recommended. The hose pull is my theory as well. Im hoping the pieces he recommended solve my issue once and for all.

Received it yesterday, and tried it last night. I'm thrilled with the result!

Got through my first night with it. A lot of impressive aspects and a few annoyances. The lack of leaking and headgear is incredible, the stiffness and sensitivity of the hose to any sort of weight or movement is annoying coming from the dreamwear. The adhesive is so good that it's like somebody is sucking your face into a vacuum cleaner with the slightest amount of pressure coming from the main hose.

Also, should I be concerned that my spontaneous cycle % went from the usual 95%+ to 75% in my first night with this? Going to get a larger sample size before I get too concerned with that

I feel like this product would be vastly improved with a more flexible/less rigid hose.

Word is bleep is finding another tube. You can always take an old tube off another mask and swap tubes out. I did that with a p10 tube, but I had four old ones laying around. Destroying one to make the dreamport better was no sweat off my back. Easy diy solution.

I have read this whole thread, and have ordered the DreamPort from cpap.com. Expected delivery is Monday, Dec 9.

The hose tube style that connects to the "face side" of the Bleep is not available for purchase, but the ResMed N10/P10 uses the same size tube to connect to the "face side" of that mask? And I can rip out or cut away the hose from the N10/P10 frame, and then just lodge it into the Bleep "face side" and it will seal? And the other end of the hose for both masks is the standardized tube connector that is shared by most CPAP machines?

Thank you. I just did this with an old P10 I had lying around, and it seems to have been successful. I don't really know yet whether or not I will have any leaking issues around the new hose connection, as it is difficult to tell with the vent holes right there. I don't want to waste a set of DreamPorts to test it, so I'll have to see tonight. The hose of the P10 does seem extremely flexible and stretchy, so I have high hopes.
