Still going strong with my CPAP machine therapy but noticed something peculiar with the packaging for my Dreamwear full face mask cushions. When I received my first set, there was an "S" sticker covering the "M" on the package. The second set, it was an "S" covering the "L" on the package. I'll admit that the cushion feels a lot more loose on my face than the prior. I'm going to let my sleep specialist know and show the packaging so he can see if there's any funny business going on with my DME. Not sure if it's them correcting Phillips' packaging or if my DME just doesn't have the correct small size cushions in stock. :?

The Size of the cushion should be marked on the cushion its self.

The size printed on the side if the mask is correct. Don’t know why the bags have been relabled

My guess is someone ran out of bags with S Printed on the label and stuck an S sticker on the bag they had handy.
Probably the DME....I can't see the Respironics factory doing it.
The bags are of the sort that they can easily be opened and sealed back. Someone probably robbed the original cushion from the bag for someone else and then stuck some Small cushions in that bag.

What I can see happening is a DME robbing from one of the complete mask packages that has the fit pack included and putting the robbed cushion in a baggy they had laying around.
Stinks but they do it. We don't know the history of the cushion at all when bags that can be opened and resealed like that are used.

Just a quick update: my last appointment with my sleep specialist went like this:

New machine will be CPAP only, not APAP. He feels CPAP is adequate for most of his patients.
New machine that will be ordered will be able to monitor my AHI levels, along with my sleep times. It won't be a brick.
We've opted for June 2020 to write the prescription for the new machine.
It'll be a Dream Station.
He confirmed the packaging nuance that you guys mentioned.
He is very happy with the owner running the local DME shop in my city. It's ran under tight scrutiny by Medicare and the physicians at the sleep clinic have a good working relationship with the owner. The physicians have had headaches with both Lincare and Apria.

60 days using the current machine, getting 7.5 hours sleep a night on average. I've noticed I'm getting the water build up in the mask.
I've made a mental note to ask the sleep specialist to put in for a heated tube as well as the humidifier for the future CPAP machine.

Just another update and something I'm pondering late tonight: Why are different brands of Melatonin not consistent? I've been using a brand Walmart puts out and I go out like a light. I tried a different brand for the past week from Costco and my brain goes into overdrive.

I'm still getting 8 to 9 hours of sleep with my machine. Though it's a brick, it's a solid one at that.

Nice to hear you're still on PAP and, by the sound of it, doing pretty well. Have you read the labels on the melatonin carefully? Same dosages? Is one slow release and the other not? Other possibly active ingredients present or absent?

My DME removes the off-size pillows from a mask fit pack, but I get the one I can use.
Medicare is billed separately for pillows, frame, and headgear.
My DME does "comp" my headgear if it is not covered by Medicare.

it's not a regulated industry. so you end up with things to look out for as miss e has suggested.

i've found a liquid time release on amazon that i like. but i take such a low dose that it's going to take forever until i buy a new supply. i don't know if it will have the same results as how am i to know if it's manufactured the same as what i take?

thanks, obama!

FDA regulates both finished dietary supplement products and dietary ingredients. FDA regulates dietary supplements under a different set of regulations than those covering "conventional" foods and drug products. Under the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act of 1994 (DSHEA):

Seems a stretch...

One bottle is fast dissolve (from Costco), the other are gummies (Wal-Mart). Nothing about quick working, etc.
Makes sense they're very different then. I forgot that the FDA doesn't regulate supplements.

Should I use SleepyHead or Oscar to record my brick usage, or is there another option? I'm wanting to record my usage (At least a month's worth) so that I can submit it to my sleep physician during my Telehealth appointment on May 25th.
