do i have to install any software on my laptop for this purpose ?
and what is the use of bluetooth on dreamstation
please click on the last link at the bottom of this post to download the sleepyhead software.
the bluetooth is there to get the data generated by the machine to the doctor remotely. most of us turn it off because we don't want any doctors making changes to our data remotely.
good luck!

Zonker,
I thought the modem was for the DME or doctor to see results & the bluetooth was just for the app. Am I wrong?

you are right, it's for apps.
at about the same time, i just pmed pugsy and palerider to look at some charts, but then linked to the wtong post.
i may have to go lay down for awhile.

And you're going to trust them to tell you what's really going on?

Ahhhh, I do like my doctor. Last time I saw him, he said "I see you've changed your pressure. Good job. I would have done the same." I asked if he'd heard of Sleepyhead, he did, and I told him how I learned of it on this forum, blah blah, blah.
I turned the Bluetooth off on my machine long ago, the app is meaningless. The modem can only be turned off for 3 days at a time (it's set to come back on after 3 days.) I would remove it or turn it off permanently but apparently not an option.

I'm not sure why you would want to do that, but if you downloaded the providers manual, you can use the "Check Mask Fit" setting.
"You can enable or disable the check mask fit setting. This feature allows the patient
to check the fit of their mask prior to starting therapy. This is done by measuring the
amount of leak in the patient circuit"

That won't tell you anything at all about your leaks during the night.

There is some sort of leak number that gets shown with the "Show AHI" turned on in the clinical setup menu area....so that people can get the limited data that the machine's LCD screen shows.
It's all explained in the clinical manual...that I guess someone hasn't bothered to get and/or read yet.
I forget off the top of my head which leak number it gives though....and no time to go look it up when people need to get their own manuals and do their own reading.
I provided the link...they have to do their own part of the work.
I may have to RISE but I refuse to SHINE.
If you want to try the Eclipse mask and want a special promo code to get a little off the price...send me a private message.

The LCD screen shows "Mask Fit""as a percentage for one day, 7 days, 30 days. Not particularly helpful as it is after the fact. There ia a "Check Mask Fit" on the clinical menu which runs for 40 seconds. I don't use it, I guess because I can tell immediately if the mask is leaking as soon as I turn the machine on.

That's kinda what I thought, to check the usage, however long it is in use, on sleepyhead "Leak Rate". I thought the OP asked "is there any way to check mask leakage?" Dreamstation has that "Mask Fit" option. They quote "This feature allows the patient to check the fit of their mask
prior to starting therapy. This is done by measuring the
amount of leak in the patient circuit".
You are right, at night if you knock your mask loose or pull the hose off, the "Mask Fit" feature is of no use.
