Stuck on Maximum Pressure
Re: Stuck on Maximum Pressure
I sent email to you, and a copy of the service manual I found for my machine.
If yours is a higher level, please send a copy to my email.
I do appreciate all the assist I've gotten here.
Tomorrow, I will strip down my unit and hunt for mechanical problems, i.e. clogged tubes, etc.
I figure after 15 years of use, it could stand a good internal cleaning.

Re: Stuck on Maximum Pressure
My machine firmware is 2.7
I disassembled the machine, and found it remarkably clean after 15 years of use.
All the tubing was supple and flexible.
I cleaned out the tubing anyway, and flushed the port flow assembly as well.
The only error code was E57 "stuck key" which I cleared.
I put it all back together and the blower still runs at full throttle.
What is the recommendation for a CPAP with heated humidifier?
I'm interested in reliability and longevity.
Mine has over 31,000 hours since I bought it in 2006.
Remarkable in its own right.

Re: Stuck on Maximum Pressure
And how are you determining that it's "at full throttle"?
Have you put a manometer on it?
Get OSCAR

Re: Stuck on Maximum Pressure
Not helpful.
I've worn this every night for 15 years.
The pressure is so high now, I have the manually hold my mask in place.
This changed radically about 6 months back, and that is when the dry mouth started.
I don't need a manometer to tell me it is pushing far too much pressure, any more than I need a thermometer to tell me it is very unpleasantly cold outside.
I'm still hunting for recommendations on the right device to replace mine.
I want a reliable one with the heated humidifier.

1. ResMed AirSense 10 AutoSet or AutoSet for Her
2. ResMed AirSense 11 AutoSet https://www.resmed.com/en-us/healthcare ... 1-autoset/
No other choice
Re: Stuck on Maximum Pressure
Thanks for the reply!
Tell me "why".
I'm not trolling you... I like to hear from those with more experience in selection.
15 years ago, I was very careful when I chose my current rig.
I don't need Bluetooth, do not own a cell phone.
I've spent half a century in the computer business, and have zero need for bells and whistles.
As long as I can get into the Setup as needed, and heat the water tank... I'm good.

Won't cost anything to contact these folks and tell them what your problem is and ask for an estimate on the cost of repairs.
That's where I bought the kit(s) to fix mine (the one I told you about).

Re: Stuck on Maximum Pressure
A manometer may not be necessary for YOU to distinguish bad from good,
but when you discuss the issue with a technician, an actual number
will help convince him you are not full of "hooey".
After 15 years, we trust you know something is wrong,
but numbers are everything to the guy paid to wield a screwdriver.
Humor the guy, OK?

Please give it a rest.
Come back and post when you have something useful to contribute.
I have wielded a tech screwdriver for 47 years now.
I really do have a clue.

Bgavin, CF said we — which includes her — trust you to know something is wrong. She was giving you advice about dealing with a repair technician, in case you follow up on Wulfman’s suggestion. To my mind, that’s a good contribution, and I can tell you it’s from a wonderful forum member.

The above video explains why so many of us will say that ResMed auto adjusting algorithm is better.
Yes, it is an older comparison but near as we can tell the algorithms didn't change with the AirSense models or DreamStation model release.
Most people here report doing better on ResMed than Respironics. A few don't but for the most part the people who made the switch for whatever reason (and there have been a lot of switches since the recall) have reported better reports, better sleep and generally feeling better.

Re: Stuck on Maximum Pressure
Actually, I'm finding some of it to be a pain in the ass.
Your comment above, is an example.
I'm not here for attention... I'm here hoping to find somebody who has solved a similar problem.
Your troll comment contributes absolutely nothing to this post.
You made an emphatic statement of preference for two ResMed devices and "no other choice"
I was very interested in knowing the "why" behind your preference and "no other choice"
In response, you troll me.
You are the one seeking attention here.
The comments about the ResMed preference have substance.
That is the sort of thing I was looking for and not being trolled.
Wulfman was of great assistance.
I am grateful for this.
I am a repair technician of nearly 50 years experience.
I have serviced thousands of devices from water cooled main frame computers, to cars to toasters.

It's OK, we believe you and you don't have to justify yourself to people who deliberately bait and trash for effect. Sorry I can't help with tech stuff tho', but know that Resmed is better - personal experience apart from anything else.
