Moving SD card from Airsense 10 to an S9

Post by MyIdaho » Mon Mar 18, 2024 1:44 pm

I only have one SD card and it is loaded into my S10. I have temporarily switched back to my backup machine (S9 autoset). I want to compare leak rates between the S10 and S9. I have months of data stored on my computer from the S10 but need to record data on the S9.

Questions:
Do I simply insert the SD card into the S9 or must I delete the S10 data first?

Do I need to set up a separate folder in Oscar for the S9 data?

If so, how do I do setup this separate folder?

Thank you!

No. OSCAR won't care if you have 2 machine's worth of data under one profile.

The S10 won't care about the other data on the SD card (I don't think) but I am pretty sure the S9 will have a problem and want you to erase all the other machine data before it will write to it.

First off, SD cards are great to have around... cameras, video games, lots of stuff uses them. You can get them at Walgreen's, Walmart, etc.

Just do a quick FAT32 format on the card... it would probably reformat it anyway. In your PC, using WinX, right click the card in Windows Explorer and select Format/Quick Format/FAT32.

No, I have years of S9 and AS10 data in my main profile. I do have a separate profile for some bi-level experimentation I did. Sometimes it gets confused as to which picture to put on the profile... no biggie if it shows the S9, loved that machine very much long time... still have mine.

If you'd like to keep it separate set up another Oscar profile... I forget how, but it's not hard, and available through the menus.

The main deal with S9's and SD cards is *lock the card* before putting it in your PC... that's the little switch on the side of the card. Then *unlock it* before putting it back in the S9. They say do this because a PC can try to fix the card etc when it reads it, something the S9 won't like.

And remember to get your S9 card into OSCAR frequently. The S9 saves only 5 nights of detailed data on the card, the rewrites them. If don't read the data within that time period, the details are lost.

Thank you Pugsy, Vandownbytheriver, and Ozji for your assistance and guidance!

Looking forward to getting some real data on the S9 with my present setup. I used it last night and had a green leak smiley while I have routinely had red leak smilies with the s10. Hard numbers are more meaningful and useful then green or red lights. Will report when I have several days of data to report.
