Head sweats
Head sweats
Have any of you had a problem with head sweats? My husband is bald and sweats profusely with his CPAP on. It wakes him up and he pulls off the CPAP for the night. Very frustrating. We are desperate for a solution.

Have never had that problem. But, your husband might find the ResMed Swift nasal pillows "mask" to be more comfortable. Not anywhere near as much "stuff" on the face. Another he might want to try is the Nasal Aire II...I didn't like it at all (too noisy for me) but it probably has the least contact with face and head of anything.

Hi Jeanine,
Has you husband used cpap for long?
Is he sweating because he feels hot or just from all the gear on his head?
If he's not too hot he may try wearing a light cotton cap to absorb the persperation. That might make him feel more comfortable.
The Swift rested gal suggests may also be of some help if he feels overcome by a big heavy mask.
All that plastic covering your face can be kind of stuffy.
One other thing that comes to mind Is it a cold sweat?
I've heard that some people that use a non-heated humidifier can wake up in a cold sweat. It was decribed as if you just came in from cold rain shower.

Jeanine, is your housband getting "full" cpap threatment e.g. does he keep his mouth open during the night thus alowing air to excape, is the preassure correct, are there mask leaks and so on. If he still strugles during the night and his sleep gets interupted the effect would be waking up in the morning feeling exausted and sweaty like you ran marathon all night. This is what leads later to cardiac/pulmonary problems and real danger of unthreated sleep apnea. Also, I would check with MD for any other underlining possible health problems that result in morning sweat.
Sometimes, all I need is the air that I breathe!
