ResMed Swift Nasal Mask

Post by Titrator » Mon Aug 30, 2004 3:25 pm

Hi Folks,

I just received the Resmed Mirage Swift. It is a fabulous mask. There are three pillow sleeves that come with the Swift. I use the large size. It reminds me of a breeze nasal pillow, it has the same feel.

The headgear is very simple and doesn't mess up the front of my hair, like the breeze. The hair aspect really isn't a big deal to me, but I have heard people say that the breeze gives them flat hair. lol

I like my hose to run upwards, so I used the velcro piece that came with the mask to secure it upward.

This mask is not a loud as I have heard others say. It isn't dead silent, but it is far from too loud.

It comes in a very cool blue bag, that is perfect for travel. The mask is easy to take apart and clean as well.

I spoke to the local Resmed Rep today and she told me that it has been tested on the ResMed Spirit, Respond, and VPAP and give accurate reports. She also noted that you would use the Mirage setting for mask choice. She also stated that any mask that says Ultra would use the Ultra setting and anything with Mirage would us the Mirage setting.

I am flabbergasted by just how good a design this really is. I put it on, laid down and turned to each side without breaking a seal.

I give this one 4 Thumbs Up!!!

I have been using the Swift for several nights now and I like it as much as the breeze. It is great to have another favorite mask that you can rotate. It extends the life of your masks and gives you alternatives. Now I am looking for a third favorite.

Any suggestions?

I recently went to Denver on holiday and I only took one mask, the Swift! It was sink or swim with only having one mask to depend on while traveling.

I found that not only does the Swift come in a really cool little travel case, but it is very, very easy to wear.

I did some comparisons before I left. I normally use a sea foam green size large nasal pillow for the Breeze. The identical pillow size on the Swift is the Medium size pillow sleeve.

So if you wear the breeze, it could be an easy transition.

Four thumbs up for the Swift.

ResMed Swift Nasal Mask

Hi,

I am new to this list. I am waiting (patiently) for my distributor to get this mask. I am currently using the Ultra Mirage Nose Mask but cannot stand all that stuff on my face and head.

I briefly tried the Swift in my Respiratory Therapist's office and think I will love it. I did notice the air noise but it was not loud and I am sure I can get used to it.

I am so happy to hear that you have it and that you think it is wonderful. From reading posts on different boards, I now realize that one has to have more than one mask to compare and to interchange if necessary.

If we all have to put up with our new "Bed Buddies" at least we should get the most comfortable, less invasive ones, right?

I have only been on the CPAP (now AutoPap) since July 20th so I am new at this and hope to learn more and more everyday.

Thanks for your help.

Well, my MEDM (medical equipment distributor man) is delivering me my new mask.....the Swift today at work at 1:00 along with my new ResMed AutoPap machine. I am anxious to use this mask to see if I like it. I hope I do and will let you know.

I am considering one of the following masks: breeze, swift, and activa. Which one is the quietest?
