My son is 11 years old, has had his adenoids and tonsils removed and is on a cpap machine and has accepted it well. In the day he is full of energy and doesn,t suffer at school. I have never checked him in the night except when I go to bed but following a friend asking the question I thought maybe I should.
Does anybody know whether or not I need to check him through the night and if so how often and what should I check for.
thankyou for your advice

cpap night time care
Hi Shirley,
You could check to see if he was breathing and then stoping for 10 seconds or more. Also, not if he is snoring. That can also be an indicator.
You could also take him to a sleep lab and let them test him to make sure.
The treatment for children with sleep apnea is removing tonsils and adnoids, and weight loss if needed.
Regards,
Titrator the Ted..

Thankyou Titrator
