I'm happy with CPAPXpress, a "local" chain of brick and mortar DMEs in upstate NY that specialize in CPAP/APAP equipment. Nicest thing about them: They set all their customers up with a full data machine by default. And they point out that APAP machines are covered under the same insurance code as straight CPAP and that APAP machines do offer the flexibility of not getting a loaner if your sleep doc decides to order a week or two of home autotitration to tweak your official pressure. So if you say, "I want an S9 Autoset or a PR System One Auto" you get it without any grief, paper work or oddball questions about why you want such a machine when your prescription says "CPAP at 9cm".

Service seems OK but I did not like having to go in and haggle over the price of the new machine. I felt like I was buying a used car. Any business needs to have a fair profit but not one that is obscene.

Yeah, I guess so.
My assinged RT for the DME listens to me and real seems to really care. However, I always need to contact them when I need supplies.

Well, not happy anymore. All of a sudden the DME in Florida decided I was a burden to them and refused to ship any more supplies. I switched to a DME internet company in CA and they call every 90 days to see what I need and it is at the door 3-4 days later. If you want a good online service that will deliver what they promise and accept Medicare and other insurance, then give Americare Respiratory Services

No. Apria is no help and they take forever.

I got my equipment from Apria last week. Their follow-up wasn't great, but it was interesting that the RT actually recommended cpap.com as a good place to get equipment and information online. I plugged this forum, of course.

I guess it's worth keeping an open mind. I liked everybody I talked to except for the people who answer the phones (who of course gave me a bad first impression). We'll see how things go over the long term, I guess.

Looking at the billing sheets, they seem to bill different amounts for different brands of machines. When I get my EOB, I guess I'll know whether they also get paid for what they bill, but in theory they had already gotten approval for the amounts they were charging.

I am a newbie. My company Medi-home care has been good to me so far. The RT is also a CPAP user for many years. I got the machine I wanted and all they issue is APAP..S9 autoset. They tend to prefer the resmed products.

I found their prices to be fair. I was given a price sheet with all the codes and prices..their price, what my insurance paid and what i was to pay.

They have auto ship for supplies. The only thing I was a little annoyed was that the RT kept the extra nasal pillows in out of my new Swift LT for her.

The RT also informed me that for the first few months my data will be checked every two weeks. He gave me two memory cards and envelopes to either mail or drop off the cards. I haven't told him I have software...but I plan in it when I take my card in for my first data check.
Diagnosed 08/31/10. Titration 9/02/10. Started CPAP 11/01/10. Auto mode 10-15cm. Alternate mask GoLife for her. Back up mask Full-life full face w/Pad-a-cheek mask liner. Comtec CMS F50 wrist pulse oximeter. Sobakawa Cloud Pillow, Sleepyhead software

My original brick and mortar DME has stopped supplying Resmed.

I'm transitioning to a new DME which has both a store in San Diego and offers an on line store also.

My new DME

1) Ships fast and is near me.
2) Has a friendly staff with no pressure to ship unwanted supplies.
3) I have discussed my needs and concerns personally with the owner of the company, so i know where i stand.
4) The owner is a CPAP user himself
5) The DME will match any internet price
6) The DME handles all the insurance billing and paper work
7) They ship in stock items immediately and any out of stock items as soon as they get them.

Perfection

I am stuck with Crapria since I have Cigna INsurance and they have an exclusive contract with them.

I have been using a CPAP for nearly 4 years and I have NEVER been able to get them to let me see an RT.

They wouldn't supply the machine my Sleep Doc prescribed and I ended up purchasing my own machine from CPAP.Com.

SInce I didn't buy the machine from them, they have refused to touch it, nor go over the set-up or anything concerning the machine.

I recently went into their local office to get fitted for a FF mask my Doc prescibed and I had to wait 40 minutes and then the person at the office merely gave me the mask withoug going over adjustment or cleaning instructions.

Crapria is pathetic !
