Sleep doctor recommendations in Dallas
Sleep doctor recommendations in Dallas
I am thinking of "firing" my sleep doctor, and getting a different one.
Mine is slowly retiring, he's only seeing patients 2 days a week, and he isn't aggressive enough for my tastes. He loves writing scripts for drugs, but drags his feet on equipment. My latest is that the mask he recommended for me doesn't work for me at all, though he did come up with a replacement that works better, but refuses to write a script until 3 months is up on the last one.
The good news, is that I bought the mask online, and at a very good price AND it works.
Anyway, I think it's time to find a new doctor. I would prefer someone in the northwest area of Dallas. (I-35 / I-635)

Good luck, I hope someone can recommend a good doctor for you. If you get no suggestions for one in your area, post again. You never know when someone with the right answer will post.
Sorry I can't recommend anyone, as I'm not from Texas. And I've just gotten my first machine and mask. Don't know how my doctor will be when I want a change or addition and need a prescription.
I don't like my doctor, personally. So far he seems to know what he's doing, so I'll stick with him for now. But he not only has icky manners, he gets angry, talks down to me, and would prefer I never ask another question! When, on a visit following my sleep test, I asked to borrow the pen he was holding so I could write down a fact or two from the test report, he looked at me like I'd just asked for his kidney! So, I gave him a choice, either let me borrow his pen for a second, or give me a copy of my test report! He hesitated, didn't want to do either. But he finally opted to giving me the report. What a jerk!
Good luck to you.

I really liked Dr. Margaret Mike in Dallas, and my sleep studies were done at Doctors Hospital (because it was convenient to my home and on my insurance). I was very pleased with both Dr. Mike and the sleep tech who did my studies. I had several prior sleep studies and I hated them and the results were poor.
I also had good luck with Mid-Cities medical equipment company. They were much better than other big name "national" DMEs I used early in my CPAP attempts.
I live in California now (Sonoma County).
Good luck!

Hopefully I won't need a study any time soon, since I'm already diagnosed. Good news, Dr. Mike is available through my insurance and the office is located near my home.grisibella wrote:I really liked Dr. Margaret Mike in Dallas, and my sleep studies were done at Doctors Hospital (because it was convenient to my home and on my insurance).
