I use CPAP on long distance train travelling trips

Hi People

I am a hose head who likes travelling around on the trains, but the hardest thing I faced was getting infomation on whatever that plugging the CPAP in the sleeper cabin's power supply would harm a CPAP or not. Fortuantly, I knew a few railway worker who worked on the train's power supply gave me a tip. Use a surge arrest power board to protect the CPAP.....

I set myself up and had a trip at July , that was few mths ago.....I went for a long distance trip. I knew the train's power supply would fluctate due to it source, the generator. In older trains it was a powervan that delivered the the current. Now with moden trains the power is from it's own generator under th car. At beddy bye I hooked myself up to the cabin;s power socket and thought" Here goes nothing, I hope the train's power flucuations doesn't blow up my power board and CPAP with it !"

I crossed my fingers and put my mask on and slept.....In morning my CPAP was till pumpin away merrily. "Oh goody" I thought, it didn't muss up my machine. It was good learning experince for me and now I know who use the trains power supply to work my CPAP so I can sleep nicely at night."

I know what happens if I don't sleep with my mask on.....I become a trainwreak. Cracking head, headache and not refreshed no matter how long sleep, this is always the result I get without the mask and CPAP.

Been I traveller thank goodness we can use em on airplanes and trains.....I hoping one day we will be able use CPAP in a car, whist it in motion. How long do you think I'll take before they invent same power outlet for a car, whist the car's in motion in the passenger's side?

As sometime I sleep in a car, and wake up a real wreak As It is often that do not have my CPAP operating whist sleeping!!!! Properly one day they may invent one for the car whist it is in motion.......

What do you people think about that?

All you need to run a cpap in a car is a power inverter that plugs into the cigarette lighter outlet. These can be purchased as Radio Shack.
