Howdy from the forumadmin!

Howdy!

I am the forum admin. I'm actually more than one person. Usually I'm Johnny Goodman but I could also be Adam, Theo or Ted the "Titrator".

I don't particularly enjoy long walks on the beach, as I recently was stung by a jellyfish but I do like Spaghetti and long hours working on the websites. I enjoy a good game of ultimate frisbee and my favorite all time CPAP product is the Respironics Profile Lite. Although the PB 420 Series comes in a close second, that mask cushion is a very pretty blue!

Cpap-Pro

This product has apparently now has been approved by Medicare for the treatment of Obstructive Sleep Apnea.
The concept is unique. The nasal puffs are held in place by being attached to a mouthpiece which is self-fitted to the upper teeth.
Because of this arrangement one can toss and turn without disrupting the air pressure to any appreciable degree.
The instruction is to have the puffs engage lightly with the nostrils and a certain amount of air leak is not only acceptable but is desirable.

Here is the problem. If loose, there is air noise and annoyance; if tight, one can injure the tissues of the nostrils. In my case I developed a cellulitis of the right nostril from irritation due to the nasal puff. This was successfully treated with ten days of Keflex!!

So I have returned to the nasal mask, but am contemplating changing to a full face mask because of recent difficulties in breathing through my nose which is probably not related to the Cpap-Pro.
