Then why are you even here? We don't need to know the answer, but you certainly do. Hosecrusher just made an excellent post in the other thread. I hope you give it some serious thought...for your own sake.

In the South we understand the difference...

A "whole bunch" is a bigger bunch than just "a bunch."

Gee, "bunch" doesn't even look like a real word anymore.

Very good. I was wondering when someone would ask me about it. I'm very rusty and have my own "way" but can you read it?

It's Gregg. I took shorthand my entire career and obviously remember a bit of it...I am the last of a dying breed...

You're right. Is bunch a word anymore?

I would also be honored to be included with the "whole bunch" of jerks.

The subject line has a subject/noun phrase that is partially inferred, which I have corrected, but the subject and verb agree.

That does look like Gregg shorthand...

When jnk mentioned the "Gregg Reference Manual" it made me think of Gregg Shorthand and thought "what the heck???" I haven't written anything in shorthand in a LONG time and my hand was shaking like crazy, thus why some of it isn't exactly to scale as it should be.

I think it's a tribute to how good this bunch of people is that we can take a thread that was meant to be nasty and turn it into something fun.

Maybe, but I think he's probably "more" lucky that he's wrong and that most of the people here are nice, kind, caring and supportive. If we were as bad as he seems to think...well, the results of that would be unfortunate.

Sorry, I just couldn't help myself!
I was a Pitman student so can you translate? Never thought I'd ever see shorthand again, makes me feel like a kid again! This is really a hijack! Sorry!

I think if there's one thing I would change in my HS curriculum, it would have been to take shorthand. I could have used it the rest of my life. Is it taught anywhere today?
