Use a CPAP ? here is FREE MONEY (from Australian Government)
Ok there are a couple of catches..
1. You got to be an Australian living in Australia.
2. You got to currently a holder of one of these: health care card, pensioner card, seniors card, or veterans (DVA) card.
This is a new program it started on 18 June 2012.
It is run by the federal government called "Essential Medical Equipment Payment" - administered by Centrelink.
With just a CPAP machine, they give you $140 each July starting now. Apply once only, and paid each year. tax free, affects no other benefit.
If you have other medical equip also (eg dialysis, oxygen pump, nebuliser, etc), I understand that you get $140 for each qualifying machine on the list.
I have applied (took 60 seconds - online). They told me I will get the $140 in "about a week"..

Not here.
Can't even get an electricity discount.
By the time I'm on Medicare, they probably won't supply any machine but a G-D BRICK!

That's pretty funny ... how did you get the type upside down?
President-pretender, J. Biden, said "the DNC has built the largest voter fraud organization in US history". Too bad they didn’t build the smartest voter fraud organization and got caught.

yeah but you neglected to tell the people that our electricity charges are going up by 20% for our governments new carbon tax which will do nothing for polution
Re: Use a CPAP ? here is FREE MONEY (from Australian Government)
What an odd concept of free money. How much GST is on your machine? $300 or more? So they are going to give that back now over time?

Re: Use a CPAP ? here is FREE MONEY (from Australian Government)
Well I bought my first machine 2005 and my second machine 2012 over the Internet for about 1/3 the price quoted as retail in Oz. Both machines (resmed) were manufactured in Sydney. I paid $0 GST each time. In my most recent machine I also got back $500 from my med insurance (MBF / Bupa) upon presenting the Internet receipt. They did not care it was bought from overseas.
I am not in favor of carbon tax or current government. I know electric will go up. But I've calculated (roughly) that current price to run the machine is about $40 for the year.. 20% rise is $8 - so $140 is good compensation for the CPAP usage...

The "seniors card" is specifically the Commonwealth Seniors Health Card which is income means tested.shb wrote:2. You got to currently a holder of one of these: health care card, pensioner card, seniors card, or veterans (DVA) card.
All up, its program for those on lower and/or fixed incomes.
Cheers,
Bill

Gosh, even on the other side of the planet there is a class of people who believe in the fairy tale of free stuff from the government. I should have know this is not confined to the U.S.
