Question: Because of differences between men in face shape or looks of masks or what?

Now it's time to get on my soapbox before gidgie comes along and takes me off. I'm a full-face mask user, and I'm convinced full-face mask users are made for men. The important area near the mouth is designed for those with a broad chin area, which I do not have, so it's really hard to get a seal. So I prefer UMFF, with a leaning towards trying comfort full 2.

similarly, in the nasal area, many masks are not designed for people with small features, i.e. women.

if i can wear a nasal mask, i prefer activa (love that squooshy, soft stuff), swift (not much on face) and would be interested in trying aura (freedom). but i suspect these are the reasons for male preferences of these masks as well.

but i think that manufacturers design with men in mind and then just give a cursory thought to making sure many women could wear them as well. such is the heritage of apnea.

it would be interesting to see what they would come up with if they started out thinking of a design for women--whether it would be different and how.

Thank you Caroline. I am just interested to know if women seem to lean towards one mask over the others.

I used the Comfortlite 2 at my SS last night which I slept fine with, it seemed alittle heavy on the forehead area. Also they had to put a chin strap on due to alittle mouth breathing. I have a little cold coming on. Trying to look at photos of masks at cpap.com sometimes the images don't come up.

Being a full face mask user and a male I am convinced that they make masks for the plastic heads that you see some of the masks displayed on!
Just my opinion, thanks for the use of your soapbox you can have it back now

Activa

I like my Activa best. I sometimes use the Swift that I got first. It seems more comfortable when I first put it on, but for me, it doesn't handle the higher pressures as well as the Activa.

I love my Nasal AireII .... barely know its there most nights. Lightweight, simple design. No real head gear to deal with outside of a simple velcro strap connecting tubing from behind the ears. T
