Re: Neti pot question
The salinity of both products is designed to approximate the salinity of mucus and mucus membranes. So they should not cause drying.curems wrote:It did seem odd to me that I had been prescribed saline spray for moisture but the neti rinse was also salt and seemed to dry out my nose.
I have used the tubes of Ayr Gel and also Lansinoh brand lanolin (http://www.target.com/p/lansinoh-hpa-lanolin/-/A-92544). Both are good.curems wrote: I do have some Ayr Nasal Gel Swabs I can try for moisture.

A small amount of blood in nasal secretions should not be of concern. Use your judgment about when it becomes a problem.curems wrote:I did see a couple of small traces of brownish red in my otherwise clear mucus

Re: Neti pot question
Thanks CG! Perhaps the only reason I'm aware of the dryness is because my nasal passages are clearer than they've ever been! I check out the NeilMed Gel (I do use Lansinoh for comfort around my mask).ChicagoGranny wrote:The salinity of both products is designed to approximate the salinity of mucus and mucus membranes. I'm actually feeling better about the small amount of blood after having seen the small traces today as I can see it is definitely not connected to my prior nosebleeds.
Thanks for all of your help.
