Best Full Face Mask For High Pressure Bipap

Post by sleepwiggler » Sun Dec 06, 2015 7:08 pm

I love my airfit f10 but because my pressure can go up to 25 I gave to keep the mastight the problem is the headgear is what really bothers me I have the large mask and headgear.

What are some good alternative ffm's with comfortable headgear.

everyone is different and masks are a big issue. I'm only using ASV for 4 months and testing my 3rd mask. Spend some time with your respiratory therapist and DME who can guide you along with all these great people on this forum

I tried the f10 and couldn't get it to stop leaking. I use the quattro fx with my own headgear made from a chin strap

I use the F&P Simplus as recommended by my DME. She said this is one of the few that will handle high pressure (over 20 cm H2O).

I am a therapist working DME (Non Invasive Ventillation). And the Simplus FFM is going to have to be the best best for BiPap pressures. Every sales rep (respironics, resmed, etc.) claims that their mask can withstand the pressure and properly hold a seal. But fitting 15+ masks a day, Fisher Paykel does very well. Whether its the Simplus or Forma

are you not able to use pillow style masks? Ive had great results with the Airfit P10 and my pressures do also get up there. Once adjusted correctly, the Amera View seems real nice but I cannot stop wearing my nasal pillow masks long enough to really get much use from it

I moved from the nasal pillow months ago

No real problem with leaks just the headgear is uncomfortable especially at the back. Maybe a haircut would help solve my problem.

I have tried nasal pillows and would like to be able to use them, but every time I fall asleep, my mouth opens up and I have massive air leaks. I have tried several different chin straps, taping my mouth shut, etc., but I have not found anything that works that I can sleep with.

I too have tried many face masks and all have leaked. Nasal masks work best but I have to wear a chin strap that tears me up. I'm going to try the F&P Simplus next and if this doesn't work, it will be back to the chin strap and nasal mask!

Try to find something to pad the headgear where out hurts. I used a chin strap that I cut up because it hurt

@ Greg that is what I was thinking maybe some extra padding there because I have no issues with the mask and love it. I hate having forehead support and the ffm is a better fit for me.

My husband folded a bandana type of handkerchief and placed it under the bottom strap at the back of his neck. This helped his comfort issues and along with padaCheek liner he no longer has leaks with his F10..

Thanks I don't have a big issue with leaks but that is good info to have.

A mask that consistently leaks, regardless of careful adjustment, probably does not fit.
Good luck in finding a mask that fits correctly.
You may have to consider other manufacturers, or even a forehead brace mask.
I was only able to use a gel full face mask by P/R, as it was the only one that worked for me.
