Using the "MyAir" feature of the AirSense 10 Autoset

Post by ~jimnsc » Wed Dec 30, 2015 9:54 am

To get last night's data to "MyAir" I know the machine has to be left on for the transfer of data. What menu items must I set to allow the transfer (ie., Airplane mode on or off, etc.)?

Airplane Mode: Off

Other than that, you need to be registered on the MyAir site, and also have set it up with your machine's serial number, etc.

It is a very basic tool, I use mine for daily checks of sleep time, AHI and leak numbers...but it is not really sufficient when compared to advanced software such as Sleepyhead. It is generally advisable to view your detailed data on a regular basis (I do mine weekly or bi-weekly, or if I'm not feeling particularly rested) to make sure that all is well with your therapy.

Good luck!

Garagelogician, thanks. I'm all set then. Just didn't remember to leave my machine on for the transfer. I've had it on for about an hour - may not get the info now but I'll try. I plan to move on to Sleepy Head later - just got this machine (1st night) and wanted to get everything working in order. I'm convinced of the necessity for using more in-depth information as I kept up with my results on a previous machine by another name brand.

Thanks again - Jim

Upload for me was spotty for the first few days. I think the machine has to "learn" your sleeping schedule before it starts uploading on a regular basis. For me, I roll out of bed around 6:30 or so...and it generally uploads around 8:00 AM. If I sleep in on some days, it can take awhile before it uploads that data.

Give it a few days, and you should be good to go.

When they say to leave the machine on, they mean leave it plugged in. You need to have airplane mode set to off. If the MyAir site continues to show you are not using the machine, your machine may not be transmitting. I had that problem with my first machine. It would not transmit so they gave me a different machine. If this hppens, contact your DME and have them check out your machine. They let me go a full month before they checked on my status.

FYI the main problem with MyAir other than the lack of detailed info is the rating system is ridiculously dumbed down.

As an example, it uses 8 hours of sleep with the mask as a holy grail, and will ding you points for anything less. So as an example, you might sleep 6 wonderful hours and have an incredible 0 AHI and it'll give you an 85 (or whatever there ridiculous scoring system does) out of 100, because you didn't sleep for 8 hours, even though all the latest scientific evidence says that there is nothing sacred about getting 8 hours sleep, as long as you feel well.

On the other hand you can sleep 8 hours and only take your mask off once, and have 5 AHI, and it'll give you a score of 100.

That's why it's a great tool to start with, but once you've gotten your feet wet sleepyhead is the way to go, as it gives you so much more info. But even now I look at MyAir once in a while, because myair is there every day automatically and still shows me ahi, which is what I care about most, whereas I might only download the data off my sd card once a week.

Yes, but MyAir gave me "the GOLD badge!" last week.

It did piss me off by giving me an 86 when I only slept 6.5 hrs. But my tape was wet and leaking like crazy this morning.

I hate to break this to you, but I'm at master platinum ninja level. Every time I get the badges I just shake my head, it's childishly insulting and humorous at the same time, reminds me of being giving gold stars in first grade.

+1 LOL! Same here. I only use it at this point to track my AHI and hours plugged in until I can study my SleepyHead data. I keep some at-a-glance data on my phone just to look at general trends.

I would MUCH prefer if they'd send me gold star stickers in the mail so I could wear one on my forehead to celebrate my super-duper compliance levels .

this might be another topic but when I go the to MyAir website, I don't see my AHI. Last night was a 99 because I took the mask off 2 times.

At the bottom of the pretty rainbow circle (I'm partial to that pretty circle ), there's a blue bar below the "Excellent results, User!" message. It says "Show score details" and if you click on it it'll tell you usage hours, seal, events per hour, mask on and offs, and your total score. To the right of each detail is a > and if you click on the > it'll give you the past 14 days of info. HTH.

BTW, don't forget, they even give you a button to share your gold badges on Twitter and Facebook!

Does anyone else feel like sharing and badges are childish?
