Working Night shift adjusting time on machine to compensate
Been doing some searching and can't really find an answer to my question. I work the night shift and have been doing so for the better part of 7 years. Here's my problem, I have the Airsense 10 and I do know how to access the clinical menu. When I get home In The morning I put my mask on and fall asleep, It will record the previous day up until around 1230pm and then it starts on the current day. So it basically records for the 5 hours or so I sleep then it starts a new session. This isn't a huge issue as my AHI falls between <1-2 99% of the time regardless of if I sleep through two separate sessions. So with that said should I change my time 12 hours backward or forward? I'd like my machine to reflect that I work the night shift.

Yes.. you can change the time. I worked nights several years back and did the same thing. I wanted to see the results of one session. The resmeds time starts over at noon. Not sure about responics machines. So... go ahead.

Thank you, Sheriff
I'd rather see the results in one session as well.

you should get the credit for compliance if you use it 4 hours total in a day
so you are actually putting two half days together if your schedule is off

forget the display on the machine and start using sleepyhead to see what's really happening.TexasJohnnyBravo wrote:Thank you, Sheriff

Re: Working Night shift adjusting time on machine to compensate
You could try either forwards or backwards but I suspect it may not let you go backwards if there is data in the reporting time that involves going backwards. Your only option might be going forward. ResMed machines won't allow going backwards with the clock setting if there is data already recorded within the time period.
Since you are only wanting to consolidate the sleep sessions...it's not a big deal if the times are off. Hours slept is hours slept no matter what the clock says.
Hey PR...if he really has the machine he has showing in his profile....doesn't matter....it's a half assed brick and nothing but AHI and 95% leak numbers available....no graphs. He's showing the AirSense 10 CPAP in his profile. If that's true...doesn't really matter what the clock is set at and no real urgent need to use SH because all SH will show is the summary AHI and 95% leak.
Besides without the detailed files SH isn't so accurate on what it reports as AHI anyway.

The Resmed Airsense 10 is what I use. I mostly use the app on my iPhone to give me a daily log. I use SH to give me a long term pattern of how I slept. With that said, what machine allows access to the most information on SH?

Re: Working Night shift adjusting time on machine to compensate
In the Airsense 10 line, any others: Elite, Autoset, or Autoset "for Her".
If yours says CPAP on the lower right corner, all you get is the bare minimum, considered by most of us to be "not enough".

There are four very different models, which do you have, look on the front right lower and find out.TexasJohnnyBravo wrote:The Resmed Airsense 10 is what I use. the problem is that if your therapy isn't just right, there's no way to tell what's wrong, and how to make it better.TexasJohnnyBravo wrote:Lol well it's not a big deal to me, my insurance paid for everything.

Re: Working Night shift adjusting time on machine to compensate
I have no issue with my therapy, I don't snore when I use my CPAP, my SPO2 levels are steadily in the high 90s. My AHI is well within acceptable levels so im good with the machine I have.
