Should be loosing water if its working. Do you have to fill the tank before going to bed?

Re: How can I tell if my humidifier is working?
There's a preheat feature available on your machine you can check it.
If it's using water it's working.
Do you have the heated hose or the non heated hose?
Using the heated hose will allow the machine to crank out more moisture than you can get with the non heated hose.
I think that even with the non heated hose you can change the mode from adaptive to the old classic humidity mode (but I need to check the manual to be sure or you can try it and see what your options are other than adaptive) which will put out more humidity.

Re: How can I tell if my humidifier is working?
I recommend heated tubing along with tube and humidity settings each on 3. Has worked very well for me.
Re: How can I tell if my humidifier is working?
These settings may or may not work since you don't know where the OP lives. Humidity needs are different in different areas of the US. The humidity needs in AZ are much different from MI.Jasba64 wrote:I recommend heated tubing along with tube and humidity settings each on 3. Has worked very well for me.

Re: How can I tell if my humidifier is working?
So my humidifier is working. Turns out, my heater is running when I thought it should not. I have heat set to zero. How many heat settings are there for it? It's the plate under the tank that is giving heat. I want the heat off.Jasba64 wrote:I recommend heated tubing along with tube and humidity settings each on 3. Has worked very well for me.
I'm using the tube that came with it.

Re: How can I tell if my humidifier is working?
It's using water so that rules that out. I fill it every day or two. The problem now is I realize the plate under the tank is giving heat and I don't want heat. I've got preheat off and the heat setting at zero. Shoudl it be giving any heat??? Do I need to contact my DME for troubleshooting or exchange?Pugsy wrote:There's a preheat feature available on your machine you can check it.

Does resetting these ever fix issues?

Re: How can I tell if my humidifier is working?
Just read manual and looks like heated tube makes it automatically go to heated humidifier. I need to get a non heated hose then. If the heated hose doesn't give you the option of turning heat off, seems they should give you non heated hose too.Pugsy wrote:There's a preheat feature available on your machine you can check it.

Re: How can I tell if my humidifier is working?
From the Provider manual, Page 4:
Humidification
This setting allows you to select the Humidification Mode being used. You can choose between Fixed or Adaptive (A) Humidification. If a heated tube is attached to the device, then the device will automatically switch to Heated Tube
Humidification Mode.
Fixed mode applies a constant heat on the humidifier heater plate. Under certain conditions and settings, this mode can allow condensation to occur in the tube. Adaptive mode adapts the heater plate temperature to the ambient conditions in the room, and is designed to not allow condensation to occur in the tube.
Humidifier
This setting allows you to choose the desired humidity setting for the humidifier: 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5.
Tube Temperature
This setting allows you to choose the desired temperature for the heated tube: 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5.
Try setting all to 0 (zero).

Re: How can I tell if my humidifier is working?
Thanks. Yes, at all zero, heater plate stayed off. However, doesn't this disable the humidifier and will result in drier air? So am I correct in that if wanting to turn humidity on, the heater plate will be used either fixed or adaptively?Wulfman... wrote:From the Provider manual, Page 4:

Re: How can I tell if my humidifier is working?
Yes, it gives you "passover" (cool) humidity. Depending on where you live and the relative humidity in your bedroom, the air passing over the water will pick up "some" humidity. You have to turn on the heat to increase the humidity by increasing the water vapor in the air traveling over the water in the tank.axxell6307 wrote:Thanks. Yes, at all zero, heater plate stayed off. I've been using "passover" humidity in my machine since I started therapy. I tried the heated form for a couple of nights and decided the cooler the air, the better it kept my nasal passages open.......less snoring, lower AHIs.
