Turned Resmed EPR off and pressure increased?

Post by CPAPSteve » Sun Aug 12, 2018 12:14 pm

I decided to try to turn EPR off on my machine to see what it would do and what I noticed is that when I wake up that the operating pressures that used to operate at around 13.3-13.6 now are hovering around 15.2-16.0 with EPR off.

I can’t access sleepyhead data for a few more days but was wondering if this is expected behavior.

EPR should have no bearing on max pressure. I have set EPR at 2,1 and off with minimal changes in pressure.....Must be something else. How many days are you talking about 1, 4, 7, 10???????

You might be getting some more flow limitations with EPR off. But, turning ERP off raised your effective pressure... Just guessing without any data.

But, no, it's not expected behavior.

Hmm okay. The settings were just changed so it could be a red herring. Current pressure settings are 13.6 - 20. RT didn’t want to open machine up wide open b/c she didn’t think there was a need for it but I decided to change it up a little as there would be no harm changing things up a little to experiment to see what works better.

Just a day so far. I’ll give it a few more days and then when I get home I can take a closer look at the data.

Quit changing your settings on a daily basis and you may eliminate some of your problems
