It's only been a few hours of ownership and I can see plain as day that the filter door on the Airsense 10 does not properly seal around the cheap filter. This has nothing to do with how you are to fit filter or a misaligned molded or installed door/unit, rather it is a glaring design flaw. The filter is simply too small and thin. If you would like to see what I am speaking bout - Install filter however you like, close door and then shine a high powered flashlight through door holes and look through the edges of the door and you will see the edges of the little filter allow plenty of unfiltered air to pass around filter because they don't touch or are not clamped to case.
Oh sure we breath dusty air without our CPAPs but why not get 8 hours of less dust per day? Yes you are right about finding dust in the corners behind the filter. The filter is kept in place by those posts but I think ResMed should have put a few of those posts in the corners to hold the filter better. Or maybe a lip for the filter to rest on. My ResMed S9 did not get as dirty, even after a few months. I don't have the S9 nearby to look at what is different about it that keeps less of the dust from entering the machine.

My ResMed 10 Autoset filter seems to be there to keep rats and spiders out. Doesn't seem to be much of a "filter" as the fit isn't all that good and the media is quite open. My HDM Z1 filter is not only much larger, it fits tightly and appears to be dense enough to filter small stuff too.

I run a tower air HEPA unit beside my bed. Outlet air points to the cabinet ( l leave one door open at night to access machine button and let air in from purifier ) where the cpap unit sits. Never have I found dust on the shelf inside the cabinet and never have I seen even a slight build up of anything on the cpap machine filter. So, in my mind, I have rather clean air going into my machine. It also has just the right amount of white noise.

It is clear that this is the only solution that would ease the OP's mind.
Not everyone shares my opinion that extreme cleanliness weakens one's immunity.
But their opinions matter, too.

Clean filtered air is one thing. Getting smoke, pollen, cat stuff, and who knows what out of indoor air is probably good.

I completely agree about the germs.

I *THINK* that means "hide my online status" set to "yes" in their profile, (but that's just a guess). Is there a way to delete one's account?

They didn't take well to people saying anything other than "PRAISE BE, YOU ARE OUR SAVIOR", did they?

A lot of people feel that way.
Anything less than praise and admiration, and they are out of there.
Such a blessing when they leave voluntarily.
Hint, hint. (You know who you are)

He's hiding his online status...we have no idea how many times he has been back...if he has been back.
All we know is he hasn't posted again. Doesn't mean he hasn't been back.

Exactly...the blank last active line only means the person has chosen to hide their online status.
Check my profile. I think I am still "hidden" and we all know I am here all the time.
There's a reason I sometimes hide...and then stay hidden only because I forget to come out of hiding.

And no...the only person who can delete an account is Carolyn or someone else at the admin level.

And what is this garbage about my 'machine has not been set'? Are any of you doctors? The machine is set for Apap and the two doctors & the training nurse all explained in detail that my machine was programed to fluctuate in that range to meet my needs and conditions.
The good folks here may not be doctors, but they are arguably more familiar and experienced with these machines and the treatment than your (ahem) "highly trained" medical staff appear to be. The veteran patients here most certainly have more combined insight and know-how. Especially considering your medical staff stuck you with a machine set to the default settings and left you to fend for yourself. You are not alone in that regard - not at all.

The good news is that the experienced folks here can actually help you. They've done it for a whole bunch of folks and keep doing it every week. They gave me the info and advice I needed so that I could quickly dial-in my settings for my particular needs. It's not rocket surgery. If I can do it, anyone can do it.

To be fair to you, you've demonstrated that you have no idea about the machine or the treatment. Again, you are not alone in that regard. So how would you know the difference between factory defaults and optimal settings for your xpap machine?

If by sheer chance the factory defaults (which for the vast majority of patients is a "one-size-fits-none" setting) actually does a good job of meeting your "needs and conditions", you should immediately go buy a lottery ticket. That sort of luck is rare.

You could certainly benefit by availing yourself of the self-help XPAP goldmine that this forum represents. But judging by your truly cringe-worthy self-introduction, that does not seem likely. I sincerely wish you luck! You're going to need all you can get!

Some are, but they're often looking for help from the not doctors.

Most of the experts here are not burdened by endless classes of expensive, but outdated rote-learning.
We have been enlightened by ACTUALLY SUFFERING from the disorder,
-and years of sharing WHAT REALLY WORKS.
We have benefited from having open minds. It is a good thing.
