slightly OT:Rocking puts adults to sleep faster

Post by zonker » Sat Jan 26, 2019 6:23 pm

"Babies love to be rocked to sleep. It turns out that we never quite grow out of it.

Grown-ups tucked into a gently swaying bed for the night fell asleep faster and slept deeper, scientists report in the Feb. 4 Current Biology. What’s more, these rocked adults had sharper memories the next morning. Aside from hinting at the next great sleep aid, the results offer clues about how the brain refreshes itself each night."

That's because we're apes. We evolved sleeping in swaying tree branches.

Do they make cradles for adults? Both of my children had cradles that rocked. Very soothing.

That's what I LOVE about my old fashioned FULL WAVE water bed.

I just wiggle my foot and the waves rock me to sleep.
Began XPAP May 2016. Autoset Pressure min. 8 / max 15. Ramp off. ERP set at 2. No humidity. Sleepyhead software installed and being looked at daily, though only beginning to understand the data.

Friends of mine had a waterbed for him, and a regular bed for her.

Separate beds for sleep--neutral ground for monkey business.
Sounds like a plan.
Hope the bedroom is big.

The couple I'm thinking of had separate bedrooms...
