With the Hybrid going away, what's a good replacement?

Re: Innomed Hybrid Discontinued
There is of course the old big bulky Liberty which has been around forever it seems like.
The 2 newest hybrid types
DreamWear full face mask from Respironics and the similar AirFit F30 from ResMed.
https://www.cpap.com/productpage/resmed ... k-headgear
https://www.cpap.com/productpage/pr-dre ... k-headgear
Neither has nasal pillows as part of the interface though. They are using the under the nose nasal cushion instead.
I don't know of any hybrid type using nasal pillows (other than the Liberty)....I was kinda hoping that Respironics would come up with one with the gel pillows interface incorporated into the FFM cushion part but so far I haven't seen anything about them maybe doing that.
I am thinking that there would be a market for either the DreamWear FFM or the F30 for nasal pillows instead of the under the nose cushion....but no one from either company has called me up to ask me what I think.
I have used the DreamWear FFM...it replaced the Amara View (which is also sort of a hybrid type but again under the nose interface) in my personal stash for a "just in case I just can't use my normal nasal pillow mask"....I slept with it for about a week I think...just to see if I could sleep with it.
The F30...didn't bother to try to sleep with it....the headgear was a turn off for me but someone else who is used to more stuff on their face and head might do just fine with it. It's comfortable enough I guess...but you know me...I don't really care for any FFM and in coming on 10 years have never really had to use one. I used the DreamWear just to see if I could use it because so many of the others I simply couldn't ever get comfortable enough to even get to sleep with them.
The Liberty....hated, hated, hated it.
Never could get it to even seal and be comfortable enough to even attempt to sleep with it.
So....look at the DreamWear FFM and the ResMed F30.....The DreamWear is really an improved version of the Amara View but I suppose it could also be considered a sort of hybrid.

Really??? You wouldn't know it by searching for them. Looks like they're in good supply with many vendors to me.....along with a number of others.

Re: Innomed Hybrid Discontinued
I haven't seen it but then I haven't looked either.
It's possible that Link was told a whopper by his DME who simply has decided to not inventory or supply that mask and would rather lie about it instead of tell the truth. Wouldn't be the first time a DME lied.
People that do use this mask though.....might want to try to find out for sure just in case it is true and make sure they stock up on their own personal inventory while it is still available. People didn't think the Breeze would ever be made unavailable either...but it finally did happen and now they are sorry they didn't stock up on supplies.
A call to the manufacturer....to ask the question directly is needed.
DMEs don't always tell the truth.

Re: Innomed Hybrid Discontinued
I hope this is not true. This has been my near-exclusive mask since starting CPAP. Gramps has been using it since it was first introduced - about 12 years he thinks.
That's what I am hoping for!
Who told you this? I'm calling the manufacturer Monday.
Re: Innomed Hybrid Discontinued
Apria. They steered me to the ResMed AirFit. Heck, maybe they are just overstocked.
(And I DO like the AirFit, I'll admit! )

Re: Innomed Hybrid Discontinued
This is another Apria lie. I called the manufacturer (Salter Labs) this morning. They think this is a unique, effective mask and plan to continue manufacture long term.
RespCare did sell the product line to Salter Labs some time ago. https://www.salterlabs.com/respiratory/ ... -home.html

Do DMEs even know the meaning of the word "truth"?ChicagoGranny wrote: ↑Tue Apr 30, 2019 8:29 amThis is another Apria lie. I called the manufacturer (Salter Labs) this morning. They think this is a unique, effective mask and plan to continue manufacture long term.

Re: Innomed Hybrid Discontinued
Actually I think saying "I was told that the Innomed Hybrid was discontinued" might be more suitable so that's what I chose.ChicagoGranny wrote: ↑Tue Apr 30, 2019 1:14 pmYou should edit the subject to say, "Innomed Hybrid Not Discontinued".

Hey LinkC, wanna exchange oral cushions? I need small and have several large. Can't do pillows, we both use large. PM me if interested.

Thanks! Saved me calling them. It occupies a niche that no other mask comes close to. Wish they made a shell for narrower faces, as I continue to lose wt my face is getting narrower.ChicagoGranny wrote: ↑Tue Apr 30, 2019 8:29 am...I called the manufacturer (Salter Labs) this morning.
