Hi - I have a ResMed Airsense 10 with humidifier. After reading a number of posts here that indicate many get a head full of snot, sorry, get congested, I thought, gee, that might be why I get a lot of sinus headaches at 0-dark thirty in the morning. So I checked and found my machine was set to Automatic climate control. In order to reduce the amount of humidity, I had to set it to manual. I was wondering, what other settings I now have to figure out. As far as I can tell, the humidity level is the only thing that is either automatic or manual. I thought I'd post a note and see if I'm missing anything.
Also, what do you find to be a comfortable tube temperature? Please suggest a starting temperature. I'm figuring I need to set it to something to reduce the number of variables. Then I'll sort out the humidity and then fine tune the tube temp next. Does that seem like a reasonable approach? I don't want to try and solve for two variables simultaneously.
I appreciate your suggestions.
Eric

Temperature setting for the hose air is entirely whatever is more comfortable to you.
You might like warmer air than I do....or I might like colder air than you do. What I might use as a comfortable temp for me you might just absolutely hate.
Auto humidity setting on the AirSense machine is equal to roughly a setting of 4 if going manual. It's around 85%.

Re: What is the difference between Auto Climate Control and Manual?
I imagined that Auto meant that it automatically varied. It doesn't make sense to me (maybe I'm overthinking it) that Auto would equate to a fixed setting. I had hoped that Auto would adjust the humidity to ambient something or another - it would adjust automatically or something.
In any event, thanks for that information. I'm going to dial it down to a Two and see if I wake up with less of a desire to trepan myself in the wee hours of the morning.
Thanks.

The machine starts with the ambient humidity and then tries to maintain whatever humidity you select

If the ambient humidity is already relatively high the machine may not need add much to get to whatever you select.

What pugsy said!
I live in the Mojave Desert and humidity is extremely low. Last night humidity was relatively high as we are expecting the rare occurrence of rain today. My humidity is set on auto. Last night my machine used only half the water it regularly uses. I know that auto is working properly.

Humidity and temperature need to be balanced--or you get a wet face.
Auto works for me--year round.

I am not a fan of humidity. I was raised in Arizona and too much humidity bothers me. I leave mine set to one. Just a hint of humidity for me. I could probably shut it off but I am fine with 1 so just haven't bothered to mess with it.
