Extreme teeth sensitivity, dry mouth
Extreme teeth sensitivity, dry mouth
Ive used an Amara Full View Mask about 2 years. I've had trouble on and off with dry mouth but now it is much worse and I'm experiencing teeth sensitivity. I've read that a dry mouth can cause many problems with the teeth and am very concerned about what to do. Has anyone had success in eliminating this problem?

Re: Extreme teeth sensitivity, dry mouth
Have you tried a full face mask that would allow you to mouth breathe (if you do), not lose Cpap air and possibly help with dryness?
Re: Extreme teeth sensitivity, dry mouth
The Amara View is a full face mask.

Re: Extreme teeth sensitivity, dry mouth
What is your humidity setting?
Are you using a heated hose or not?
Sometimes more humidity helps but sometimes it doesn't. It is worth trying if you are using a lower setting.
We have lots of full face mask users complaining of dry mouth. Mouth breathing just dries the mouth out more for various reasons.
Medication side effects sometimes. Sometimes other health issues. Sometimes we don't know why.
Using a full face mask doesn't guarantee no dry mouth.
Sometimes people have to use one of those mouth hydrating products.
You should also be having a chat with your dentist.

I suggest you see a dentist.
The longer it's been, the more you need to.

may i suggest xylimelts? it's a wee lozenge that you place between cheek and teeth. it slowly melts throughout the night to promote saliva.
find it at your drug store in the oral health section. i have purchase it at rite aid and cvs. it's also on amazon and i'm sure other places.
good luck!

Yeah, this.chunkyfrog wrote: ↑Tue Feb 18, 2020 10:06 amI suggest you see a dentist.

You could remedy a specific type of tooth sensitivity with Sensodyne toothpaste, but if you've been having dry mouth for years without a visit to the dentist, I'd be especially weary of having a lot of decay and/or periodontal disease. Saliva protects you from that. Get to the dentist!

Many symptoms can also track to diabetes.
