Will a Headgear from a Different mask fit the ResMed AirFit F30i?

Post by StuUnderPressure » Wed May 20, 2020 1:43 pm

The F30i leaks for me because there is NOT enough "upward" pull from the Headgear to keep the cushion up against the bottom of my nostrils.

Has anyone been successful in finding a Headgear from a different mask that would fit the F30i & provide that "upward" pull?

Perhaps, a smaller F30i frame would work. The frames come in three sizes - small, medium, large. https://www.cpap.com/productpage/resmed ... -face-mask

I have a Standard Frame but I am already at the high end of Standard - approaching a Large Frame.

A Small Frame would definitely be too small.

The smaller frame could definitely help pull the cushion up into the bottom of your nose. It might sit further forward on your head than the "correct" size, but as long as it's not uncomfortably close to your eyes it could still work.

If the cushion is not being "pulled up hard enough" it's not fit properly and your solution is to tighten the upper strap or smaller headgear. The problem may even be because it is not being pulled tight enough, it could be the wrong width, or even too tight preventing the cushions from inflating enough.

The f30i is too unique in shape and design that frankensteining another headgear is highly unlikely.

This is the answer best suited to the situation. :D

I do know that the Philips Dreamwear headgear can be used on the Airfit P30i, but not vice versa as the Airfit straps are too wide to fit the Dreamwear frame. It's possible that the Dreamwear full face headgear would fit the Airfit F30i, but I'm not sure. You could call CPAP.com and ask them if it's possible. The worse that could happen is that they'll say it won't fit. Good luck!

The Philips Dreamwear headgear will not "fit" the ResMed Airfit F30 satisfactorily because the straps meant for the upper receiving holes in the F30 frame are way too short.
That headgear will also not fit the F30i because of the major difference between the F30 and the F30i masks.

These options are NOT workable.
