When is a new ResMed coming out
When is a new ResMed coming out
I have a ResMed S9 and enjoy it very much. It is quite and has an ample water supply. I tried the Airsense 10 and found it noisy and with an inadequate water supply. The Airsense 10 is getting old now and I would like to skip a generation. When is a new CPAP coming out by ResMed? Rumor is that it should have been in 2020 but got pushed out by COVID. Anyone know?

Re: When is a new ResMed coming out
Anybody who might have a clue has been sworn to secrecy.
There is also no guarantee that the next one will be greater than the current model.
After over 5 years with my previous Airsense 10, I bought her twin last April.
No need to throw out all my supplies.
All things come to he who waits . . . Not all of them are good.

I too am interested. All of my backups are old as is my in-use S9. Sleep doc last Feb said no need to upgrade as the post-S9 APAP is pretty much the same machine.
ResMed S9 range 9.8-17, RespCare Hybrid FFM
Never, never, never, never say never.

I know, but I can't tell you, because of a NDA, just like everybody else that knows.
Get OSCAR

Wanting to skip a generation and wait for a device that you know nothing about is absolutely silly.
Can you answer any of these questions?
Can you answer any of these questions?
- When will the new device be released?
- Will the new device have an SD card?
- Will the new device be able to transfer data to you computer?
- Will the new device be compatible with OSCAR?
- Will the new device have bugs as do most new products?

Re: When is a new ResMed coming out
While I agree with you wholeheartedly I do understand the rationale behind wanting what should be the new, latest and greatest supposedly. I am in the process of getting my first machine and would like to start out with the newest. I do wonder why they don’t release some info even during the pandemic. The insulin pump company I do business with is always flaunting their new products to get people pumped up. Seems like they always get realeased in Europe first and must be because of their standards for new technology.Dog Slobber wrote: ↑Fri Feb 12, 2021 8:37 amWanting to skip a generation and wait for a device that you know nothing about is absolutely silly.
Can you answer any of these questions? When the new device is ready it will be announced through public channels, don't believe anything else. It's a medical device, not an iPhone.

And yes, I do have OCD. That’s why I over rationalize every purchase.
If DME calls me back today I will order current Resmed Airsense 10 and not wait.

Because they just don't. Never have and the pandemic has nothing to do with it.
They want people to buy current inventory first. Plain and simple.
It's all about the dollars...always has been and always will be and the first thing you need to learn about these cpap machine makers is that we the end users are NOT the customers who they want to please. Their customers are the DMEs and doctors who prescribe or sell these machines. Everything they do is to make those people happy....it's not us who are the end users.

Re: When is a new ResMed coming out
Figures. I understand that. It’s a shame companies don’t care more about the patients keeping them in business. It was funny yesterday that my sleep doctor literally had his nurse open the side door and show me the DME next door. Gonna get free cruise out of this setup.Pugsy wrote: ↑Fri Feb 12, 2021 10:43 amBecause they just don't. Never have and the pandemic has nothing to do with it.

Soooooooo.......if you like it, why not buy some more of them for less money than what a new one would cost?gosman wrote: ↑Thu Feb 11, 2021 10:57 pmI have a ResMed S9 and enjoy it very much. The ones I've been using all these years do the job just fine for what I need....."they blow air".....and keep my airway open. They also do a decent job of reporting my nightly data.
I managed to buy up a number of them before they disappeared and were significantly cheaper than newer ones. I've also noticed over the years that each new generation of machines have their own sets of problems or quirks. All manufacturers have had their own problems with their newer machines.
If you like the one you have, why press your luck with the unknowns of the next generation?
I have no inside knowledge, but I've been seeing quite a few sellers running sales on existing machines with some pretty significant markdowns. Don't know whether they're clearing out old stock making way for some new models or just trying to generate more sales because of the pandemic situation we've been through this last year.

Anybody can start a rumor.
There are no requirements--not even knowledge of the truth.
Try it sometime---oh, wait; I think the OP just did . . .

And say it enough times and it becomes true.
Reminds me of the time I had sex with Margaret Trudeau.
