Most Popular Nasal Pillow Mask?

Post by cpapgirl1318 » Sun Feb 14, 2021 9:01 am

What is some of the most popular nasal pillow masks? I’ve tried the Dreamwear and didn’t like it (also have the Dreamwear under the nose). So just wondering what everyone likes as a nasal pillow mask that’s comfortable and doesn’t go to far up in the nose.

I love my Bleep! No headgear and absolutely NO intrusion whatsoever into the nose...adheres to your nose. Best mask I've used...and I've tried about 20 I think. No leaking into my eyes was a game changer for me. And I can easily sleep on my side/stomach.

Resmed AirFit P10 pillow and frame. I use it with the AirFit N30 (NOT N30i) headgear, because it's adjustable.

I'm a bleep fan too. Before that, the Devilbiss Aloha, and before that, the P10.

The bleep is a bit pricey, and and first it's fiddly to use, but it simply doesn't leak and for me, is very comfortable. If you want to try it, be sure you get the NEW version, with a longer, more flexible hose and a little black dealie that holds vent diffusers in place. The diffusers are important; they make the bleep quiet and keep it from blasting air onto your skin. With the flexible short hose, you can use a hose stand/lift with the mask. (For me, the Houdini stand works best.)

The P10 is lightweight and minimalist, and it has terrific vents (quiet, with no stream of air detectable beyond an inch or two). It'd be worth trying all the pillow sizes; what seems intuitively right might not work best. Going up a size can sometimes be helpful. The positions of the straps across my face wasn't great, and even with strap covers I always had marks on my face for a while in the a.m.

The Aloha's straps curve under my cheekbones, not across them, and with Pad-a-Cheek strap covers, I rarely had marks in the a.m. It is more stable than the P10 -- moves around less. You can route the short hose up through a loop on the top head strap -- especially nice if you use a hose stand/lift, as I do. If it weren't for the bleep, I'd still be using the Aloha. Downside: it does blow more annoying air out the vents than the bleep or the P10.

p.s. Be careful: cpap.com carries the old bleep only.

For those people interested in the Bleep.....

https://makesleepeasy.com/products/drea ... eq=uniform

For those who don't want to make their own Bleep diffuser filter replacements...see above link.
I make my own.

https://makesleepeasy.com/products/drea ... eq=uniform

For those with the old system minus the bikini thong diffuser holder and want to add it without buying anything else. See above link.

I do not know if these items are available separately on Amazon and no time to check it out but makesleepeasy does sell on Amazon.

I haven't found the new heat sync hose as a separate purchase yet for those with the original shorter hose. Doesn't mean it isn't available but just I haven't found it.

Cpap.com doesn't seem to have the new upgraded models yet. I imagine they need to sell off the old inventory first.
I see that on other online sellers websites as well. The upgraded hose is fairly new to the market along with the diffuser bikini thong.

I also second the bleep mask, but use a rig to hold the tube over the headboard and keep it off me. Works great without anything burning up my nostrils or making my nose feel like it's on fire. The new one is as quiet as the p-10 with the muffler on the vents.

I like the Airfit P10. I haven’t tried the Bleep though, but the P10 is the best mask I have used.

"No pin-the-tail-on-the-nose mirror games" -- great description! And you're right, many of us have the fervor of converts. Re facial oil: alcohol wipes seem to do the trick for me.

Another vote for the bleep. I have tried over 15 masks and nothing compares to the bleep mask. I almost always get zero leaks and it is super quiet and light weight.
