I got an email from ResMed about a newly redesigned AirFit N30i cushion. "...we've redesigned the cushion for ResMed AirFit N30i to include ResMed QuietAir vent technology so it's 57% quieter than the original design. We've also updated the cushion to a soft silicone designed to flex and adapt as you switch sleeping positions and brush up against your pillows."
Does anyone know when this was introduced? Is there a different model number for the newer design? I'm curious if this is what I already have.

Re: Redesigned AirFit N30i
I bet it is bc I have one also. I got it a few months ago. I didn't like it tho... too many straps. I'm using the N30 (minus the i ) now and find it much more comfortable. Don't know when it was originally introduced.southerndoc wrote: ↑Thu Aug 05, 2021 1:57 amI got an email from ResMed about a newly redesigned AirFit N30i cushion. Re: Redesigned AirFit N30i
The new cushion has been out for several months now (Spring of 2021?) and the differences are: 1) the original version has one clear hard plastic horizontal piece with vent holes across the outside of the cushion which connects to the mask on each end, and 2) the new cushion is all soft silicone except for a distinct oval plastic vent on the front with a white filter and a separate clear plastic piece on each end of the cushion to attach to the mask. You can search online and should come up with some "N30i cushion" photos that are distinctly different from the original style. I highly recommend the new version, by the way.

Re: Redesigned AirFit N30i
I had been using the older (hard plastic) N30i nose piece, but it was indeed noisy compared to the similar P30i equivalent.
The new N30i nose piece is basically made using the P30i exhaust filter design and is MUCH quieter than the original one. A well worthwhile improvement for me!

Re: Redesigned AirFit N30i
I ordered about 5 N30i cushions last month. They are all the old design.
Is there a new part number for the new design for when I order in the future?

I like the n30i but the vertical septum between where your nostrils go irritate my nose. Does anyone know if cutting this piece of plastic will still work with the updated version?
Re: Redesigned AirFit N30i
southerndoc,
I just deleted a reply to your question about new vs. old part numbers for the N30i cushions. I'd copied in the part numbers from the label on the Starter Pack I received last week. But I double-checked online and I've come to the conclusion the part numbers aren't changing; it seems to me ResMed is using the same numbers they were using for the original cushions for the new updated diffuser version. The part numbers on my new Starter Pack seem to be the same part numbers for the old version listed by sellers online. Regardless, your best bet is to question whoever you're buying from to find out which cushions they are selling. Wish I could have been more helpful!
