Mirage FX mask: Wide or Standard

Post by CPAPQs4All » Wed Aug 24, 2022 11:20 pm

Hi, I am choosing between the Wide and Standard version of ResMed Mirage FX Mask.
Can anyone tell me whether the Wide version protrudes as much as the Standard version.
I mean the "depth" of the mask: from the cushion of the mask, to the tip of the mask where the tube attaches.
Any help on this much appreciated. I am supposed to tell the doctor tomorrow, ideally.

*Edited: I changed the word is quotation marks

Not making sense - the question is EITHER length or depth, but you have to decide that by trying it/them on - everyone's face is different.

I mean depth.
Is the Wide version as deep as the Standard version?
I couldn't find the dimensions on the ResMed website.

Call your DME and ask them... even an honest guess from someone here may not be accurate.

I have asked local vendors who couldn’t tell me. I will try another tomorrow. Unfortunately I am unable to try the masks on.
I was just asking on the off chance someone has compared both.

i have NO idea if this will help, but you could try contacting cpap.com and asking there.

good luck!

So I phoned the 1.800 number you recommended.
They said they think the depth is the same.
I also tried to contact ResMed directly, and later received a call back from Australia. From what I gathered, the Wide and Standard have the same height and depth dimensions, while differing on width only.

Which would make sense to others who do only want a change of one dimension at a time (after all).

Yes it makes sense but it is good to confirm that by contacting the supplier etc, as you recommended.
