CPAP squishing my face

Post by Bigsleepy » Sun Jan 28, 2007 2:33 pm

Hello I have had a cpap for years and I guess I just notice this now but my nasal mask squishes my face so that it creates lines under my eyes. It looks messed up and I am seriously considering not wearing it if I cant find a solution to my problem. I hate full face masks becasue all I do is eat air, does anyone else have this problem? Has anyone else found a way for the mask not to squish your face up and irratate the skin as well?

Thanks
BigSleepy

Some possibilities: Adjust current mask, replace seal on current mask, replace mask with different brand or type, try nasal pillows.

Well I had a bunch of masks from a friend who was a sleep tech so I switched it to a comfort 2 full face and it works like a charm. The head harnesss is softer and it doent have to be gawd alful tight to keep air flow. Im happy I can continue to use my cpap since it makes my life a lot easier.

Plus since it doesnt have to be so tight it wont squish my face, and since it covers the lines it may help lessen them. I spent a while with the mask squishing into my face just so I could keep my air pressure since I like it at 20, yes I am a high pressure guy. I hated playing a trumpet so much I just tightened the mask down and it would always slide up my face leaving me with lines under my eyes. Now I wont have that problem, life is good!

At 20

I sure hope you have a BiPap with exhale relief. A BiPap would also help the "eating air" problem.
