Device in diagnostic process
Device in diagnostic process
This morning when I turned off my Resmed AS 11 and glanced at the display to see my event count, I saw the message "Device in diagnostic process this will take 10 seconds.". I waited a few minutes but it didn't go away. I pushed the button to restart it, got the count down display, and then turned it off when it started blowing air. Then I got the normal screen.
What was that all about? I Googled the message but didn't find anything.

Re: Device in diagnostic process
The display is "supposed" to shut off, but it sounds like a minor processing glitch.
Since you were able to end it, the problem might never return.
Just keep an eye on it. And keep your fingers crossed.

Re: Device in diagnostic process
The display did shut off, but when I touched the screen again it still lit up with the "Device in diagnostic process" message. I would have thought it would revert to the normal display after 10 seconds but I had to press the button to get it back to normal.chunkyfrog wrote: ↑Tue Jun 20, 2023 11:11 amThe display is "supposed" to shut off, but it sounds like a minor processing glitch.

Re: Device in diagnostic process
Maybe they fibbed about the "10 seconds", or gave an optimistic estimate.

Re: Device in diagnostic process
You're using the word "diagnostic" incorrectly.
It's monitoring the breathing process. The diagnosis was done before the machine was provided.

Re: Device in diagnostic process
Although, it appears that at least in some contexts, ResMed may use terminology that implies it considers therapy-compliance data something that can be referred to as a part of 'diagnostic data.'

Re: Device in diagnostic process
In pure medicine, "response to therapy" can be considered a valid aspect of diagnosis.
It's a little known fact, Norm.
But far be it from me to defend Granny.
That's a different union.
My guess, and it is nothing more than that, is that the software somehow got hung while trying to send/transmit data somewhere internally or externally. Maybe to a submarine? Who knows.
I just work here.
Or actually, play, mostly.

To the original poster,
It does appear that you are able to use the machine at night.
It's not clear whether you can get stats after finagling.
Please clarify.

Since both you and Lazarus love to argue pointlessly, why don't you two make a thread and go at it?ChicagoGranny wrote: ↑Wed Jun 21, 2023 4:55 amYou are thinking too narrowly.
Not only is the machine diagnosing, but it's also adjusting the therapy.
