Bluetooth Pulse Oximeter for AirSense 11
I'm looking for a reliable Bluetooth pulse oximeter that can continuously collect oxygen saturation (SpO2) data throughout the night. Any recommendations? I need it to be available for purchase and delivery in Canada. I want to pair it with my AirSense 11 CPAP device to enhance my sleep monitoring experience.
Thank you in advance

You probably want a pulse oximeter supported by OSCAR. They are listed here - https://www.apneaboard.com/wiki/index.p ... d_machines

The price of $800 reflects Resmed's strategy, prioritizing profits from a specific market segment rather than addressing the actual needs of their consumers.ChicagoGranny wrote: ↑Wed Oct 11, 2023 12:39 pmYou probably want a pulse oximeter supported by OSCAR. The US has a consumer base that is quick to sue, especially sue corporations. There is an industry of personal injury lawyers to cheer them on. ResMed knows this well. Therefore, they have chosen a high-quality consumer oximeter that has some studies showing its accuracy. If they chose a lesser-quality Chinese knockoff, they would open themselves up to lawsuits.CPAPExplorer wrote: ↑Tue Oct 17, 2023 6:07 amResmed's strategy, prioritizing profits from a specific market segment rather than addressing the actual needs of their consumers.
Personally, I think it's a nice convenience, but not a necessity, to have the oximeter integrated with the CPAP machine.

Is 800 ridiculous? Yes.
Nick's not running a charity either thou. The O2 Ring does not have a FDA 510k Clearance. Even the Contec stuff is cleared.

Yeah, me either. Just can't justify that.
With that said thou, if a doc prescribes an overnight oximeter, I'd prefer the DME spend that kind of money.

My experience has been that most DMEs will provide free of charge an oximeter and report back to the doctor.
I'm curious as to why you need an oximeter. Do you have heart or lung pathologies?CPAPExplorer wrote: ↑Wed Oct 11, 2023 10:53 amI want to pair it with my AirSense 11 CPAP device to enhance my sleep monitoring experience.

If the doc says "no" to an oximeter trial, it is likely you don't really need it.
I bought one 13 years ago--and wish I still had the money.

During my at home study (which we all know isn't very accurate) I desaturated 5x/hour in the 80s so I want to make sure that my saturation is ok now that I'm on CPAP. I'm exhausted !ChicagoGranny wrote: ↑Wed Oct 18, 2023 5:51 amMy experience has been that most DMEs will provide free of charge an oximeter and report back to the doctor.

Re: Bluetooth Pulse Oximeter for AirSense 11
Is this still going on?
I wake up 90-120ish minutes after putting on my CPAP, remove my mask, and then sleep for 5-6 hours without waking up.

No wonder you are exhausted, but a pulse oximeter will not solve long sleep periods without using the mask.
By all means, buy an oximeter that is compatible with OSCAR. But, don't expect it to solve your issues. 1. You have to figure out how to use the mask all night. 2. You have to figure out how to deal with your sleep maintenance issues.
