Best pillow for side sleeper

I started using my CPAP machine almost two months ago and every night seems to be a struggle. I’m looking for recommendations on the best pillow for a side sleeper. Thank you

I just use a regular pillow. Make sure it's of a height so that your neck is straight with your spine. The neck should not be tilted to either side. Here are some more tips:

Lie on your side with your head on the pillow.
Ensure your chin and neck are aligned in the center of your shoulders, and your shoulders are in line with your hips.
Keep your head looking forward, so your chin does not tilt down to your neck or twist to the side.
Keep your arms and hands aligned with each other, either by your sides or slightly in front of you.
Consider placing a small pillow between your knees to relieve pressure on the hips and prevent your knees from collapsing onto each other.

That small pillow between the knees is important.

Please fill out your equipment profile so members can see which mask you are using. That could be important.

Thanks for the reply. I was told they make pillows with the sides cut out to accommodate the mask/tubbing of a side sleeper. My regular pillow tends to press against my mask so perhaps a pillow with the sides cut out would work better for me?? Thanks again.

I have seen bed pillows for the head with little cut outs for cpap masks but I have never seen a long bodypillow marketed towards side sleepers. Doesn't mean it isn't out there but I haven't seen it.

So which is it that you were wanting for side sleeping....
a long body pillow with cut outs or a bed pillow for your head with cut outs?

Sorry, I guess I didn’t make it clear. I was told there’s a pillow with cut outs on the side to accommodate for the mask and tube. Trying to get a sense of what is a recommended brand. Thanks for responding.

That small pillow between the knees is important.

I've been known to use a knee pillow to lay my head on.
It fills the space between my head and the mattress to keep my neck and spine straight. And it's small enuff the mask can hang off the end of the pillow.

I am a side sleeper. My full face mask is a Phillips Dreamwear and hose connects to it at top of my head. I use a buckwheat pillow I purchased at pur-sleep.com 3-4 years ago. Pillow is filled with buckwheat hulls and foam. After you lay down you can push down and create a space between mask cushion and pillow.

I use a combo memory-foam and regular foam pillow... I just wad it up under my face and hang the full-face mask over the edge.

Jason is an endorser for Pillow Cube... see if this might be something you could use. I don't think they're cheap!

I have this pillow. It’s ok. The cutouts on the side are really nice but it’s not the most comfy for me. It’s firm like memory foam. I’m looking to get a softer one simply because I like softer pillows. I’ve only had my equipment since January so I’m still experimenting.

I route my hose UP, through a hose management apparatus.
This allows me to use a regular pillow.
We were given one of those fancy foam pillows with the cutouts,
and we both found it completely useless.
So glad we did not waste money on it.
Even unused, the foam went to hell within a fairly short time.
You get what you pay for--but sometimes, it's a lesson!

BTW, the lady is in the wrong sleeping position. To prevent shoulder and arm pain in the long term, the arm on the side a person sleeps on should be down toward the hips. The other arm is OK up or down.
