Cleaning with CLR

Post by Glesto » Sat Jun 01, 2024 1:22 am

Hi all,
My father-in-law is using CLR to clean his reservoir and filter. Is this safe. I am not sure and I am concerned.

Thank you

Vinegar is best. CLR is not recommended for any medical application. See if you can get him off it, here's the MSDS, note 'wear protective clothing':

CLR?

As in Calcium Lime Rust remover?

Do you like your father-in-law?

I have a bottle of CLR right here in my hand. It does say for use in humidifiers...

I'm 100% sure that they do NOT mean CPAP humidifiers as it says on the bottle that "Vapor may be harmful"

He's using this stuff to clean his filter too, how so?

I use distilled water and have never, ever had to clean with CLR or vinegar. AND besides saving me money it saves me plenty of time - time is something you will never ever get back.
