FitLife Total Face CPAP/BiPAP Mask

Post by richjh » Tue Oct 15, 2024 1:24 pm

Has anyone tried this full face mask and what do you think of it? I have used the F20 for years and keep having recurring nose bridge problems. I have resorted to using band aids for protection.

I have never used the mask, but because of the large amount of cushion touching the face, it is more prone to leaking. Read the comments from users.

I am currently using the Fitlife mask because of massive cancer removal and plastic surgery on my face. I bought the small Fitlife because I always wear a small mask. The mask sets at my eyebrows and just under my lower lip. I have to really tighten it down to prevent leaks and it pulsing when I breath. I find it to be reasonably comfortable and I sleep on my side. I hang the mask off the side of my pillow. I find a firm pillow makes for few or no leaks. My soft pillow doesn't work with this mask. Be sure you get the right size. Too big will leak.

I have used the Fit Life mask for several months, in this go around.

This 'mask of the last resort' has the highest intentional leak rate of any mask.

The intentional leak is around the swivel. Around the edges of the mask not good.

I have found having hose hanger to be helpful in keeping the mask in place, less leaks.

I am now at the point where I must both have a sleep apnea machine and I Must sleep on my left side.

I now use a bi-level machine. I strongly urge anyone to get a bi-level machine if at all possible, but insurance for me was difficult, (Medicare qualification rules). Less pressure, less leaks.

When I look at my score on the Resmed web site, I am mostly zero leaks.

I used to put oil on my face every morning to get rid of wrinkles from machine. Now I have too many other wrinkles for that to matter.

I used the Total mask for over a decade. I only use it now, when my full face mask screws up my nose bridge, or I have some Melanoma skin issues on my nose. Was there a specific issue you had? I do know the mask is becoming harder and harder to get. My current DME says they can't get it. I had some extras I've had over the years, and I use them on occasion.

It's a very unpopular mask.

Why not try a full-face mask that doesn't touch the nose bridge? Examples are

- ResMed AirFit F30 Full Face CPAP Mask https://www.cpap.com/products/resmed-ai ... -cpap-mask

- ResMed AirFit F30i Full Face Mask https://www.cpap.com/products/resmed-ai ... -cpap-mask

The F30i is my favorite. I've been using it for two years.

Yep....the mask of last resort. But there are a handful of cpap users who really like that mask.....I am not one of them.

I did finally get my hands on a FitLife size small to try and it was horrible. I couldn't get it to seal for 5 seconds much less sleep with it.

I am usually able to at least try to sleep with a new mask but the FitLife was a no go right out of the gate.
